I'm from the states and we'll obviously never meet, but you've helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life with that post fight speech. I lost one of my best friends to an overdose a month ago and was definitely thinking some awful shit about wanting this pain to go away. So, thank you, Paddy

I've gone through alot and been diagnosed with PTSD. For some reason I'm still here... and hearing you say what you said on fight night made me break down there and then. Never cared too much for it before because it seemed more like a soap opera for boys that sometimes fight, but these two warriors make me enjoy keeping up with fighters outside of the ring now. I''ve had a female friend of mine that's been struggling with bipolar for several years and I can honestly say that engaging in the mental health system and keeping her friend network in the loop has kept her breathing on more than one occasion over this time. We have a roster system we kick in when things get really bad to make she she's supervised but it relies on her letting us know when she's on the edge. I've told her myself many times I'd rather I get called out to her place than to lose her. Talking, reaching out, finding ways to get through those key critical moments can't be overstated

Had a friend who was a Veteran recently take his life. I thought for a long time it was my fault because I never knew what he was going through and he never said anything. I still feel to this day if I had just asked he may still be here. What Paddy said broke me. "I'd rather have my friend ctying on my shoulder than go to his funeral." Fucking right Paddy.

Thanks for highlighting such an important issue. Unfortunately the funding isn’t there for mental health. The government cuts the money every year. I know from personal experience the back logs and delay in treatment. I’m on a waiting list and I’ve been told it’s at least a year before I’ll be seen. Something urgently needs to be done about this as it’s costing lives. Keep up the good work mate. Thanks.

Don't wait a year. Try some psilocybin, it's life changing. See if you can find any people doing studies on it if you want to do it legally.

One of my best mate committed suicide in 2018 and still to this day I wish he would of just even mentioned how he felt to me or any of our group of mates, because none of us truly knew how he felt on the inside and hearing you talk about how he was always happy and how he was the life of the party really got to me, because that is exactly how my mate was, and to hear someone with your platform and your following talk about how cruel mental health can be it’s inspiring it really is, the best ones always go first, life is a bitch sometimes, big love paddy r.I.p to your mate Ricky he lives in through you mate, all the best pad god bless x

My man, from someone who has lost 6 friends 2 of which were some of my closest friends in the past 3yrs and feels guilty almost as if I regret me living instead of them due to us all living the same lifestyle, and from someone who struggles DAILY with thoughts of self destruction. THANK YOU, I cannot stress this enough you are someone who is meant to not only be a fighter, but a leader and a voice for people. I hope I can meet you, and shake your hand to formally say thanks one day... I Know I will. KEEP FIGHTING, not only with your fists man but the wisdom and strength you show and inspire in others.
