Keeps his chin out and high, takes a lot of huge shots due to that. He also takes a lot of huge chances, which turns out in his favor, but doing that with those top five fighters might not be wise. Huge heart, great grappling, great chin so far. Needs to grow up a lot. I mean shoving food in your face and with that accent it’s hard to understand him at times and to be honest the UFC has come along way from that greasy finger licking grunt style.

Watching Paddy is a bit of a trip for a combat sports fan. Usually there's a certain something that a fighter does well to make them great. Paddy's a fine grappler but he gets taken down, and held down, and often ends up fighting off sub attempts. He's a fine striker but definitely not technical, gets hit a lot, and doesn't really have crazy power. His chin is good but he can't walk through shots and gets knocked down or hurt.... What Paddy has is a near perfect understanding of a fundamental principle in combat: It's always your turn. He is ALWAYS on the offensive. Stun him with a strike and he cuts an angle while winging punches. Take him down and he has a sub or reversal coming before he hits the mat. He turns nearly getting subbed into securing dominant position. And the moment you slow down, fail to match his pace for one minute, he's going to twist or squeeze or pummel whatever is open till you stop fighting back. There is no defense, there is only offense when the other person is on the offensive. Its inspirational to watch.

While this is very sportsmanlike, it’s also dangerous. I compete in BJJ and I do not let go until the ref commands me to do so.
