    I’m strongly considering the invikta as my next paddle. I keep seeing ads for the Owl brand which uses felt to reduce the noise level. Although I’m not considering that as an option, I’m very skeptical of its performance. Yes it might be quite, but if it doesn’t play well then what’s the point. I was just curious if you had ever had a chance to try it? It would definitely be interesting to see a review of it from someone that knows how to play.

    Liked. Would you kindly share the length of the S2, EPIC, and Invicta? Curious. And does the Invicta feel as plush/soft as the EPIC? I hit a few soft shots with one yesterday and it was a revelation but unfortunately could not hit any drives. Thanks.

    Will a Hesacore grip fit on the S2? Or is this length too small for that grip?

    I bought the epic about a month ago. So far I’m loving it. I did add 6g of weight to each side of the paddle. I still have a Ronbus R1 pulsar and an Electrum model E in my bag but I always grab the Luxx

    Nobody ever mentions that the swingweight on the S2 is way lower then that of the Epic or invicta.

    I just purchased a S2. I'm getting tennis elbow playing with long handle paddles. I read somewhere that the shorter handle paddles would help with tennis elbow. I have a one handed backhand so the S2 short handle would work for me.

    Longer handles and longer paddle faces typically have more leverage and swing weight which can aggravate tennis elbows or wrist injuries. Shorter handles and shorter paddle faces typically have lower swing weight and are more maneuverable making it less taxing on the joints 👍🏼 hope your tennis elbow gets better!

    I have S2’s in both the Control and the Power Air. Both are great. Although my background is tennis, I like the shorter handle as I tend to get a little “flippy” with my wrist on the forehand side. The shorter handle helps control this. I also like the larger sweet spot. The shape kind of reminds me of the old Prince tennis rackets.

    In your experience, how long have you had a Luxx paddle before you notice the spin decreasing? The spray on grit and the longevity of the spin is the only thing holding me back from getting a Luxx

    do you recommend adding weight to the invikta paddle shape

  • @edjupickleball

    @edjupickleball

    I think for 90% of players, weight isn’t actually necessary. I’ve always added tape to help booster the sweet spot or increase swing weight and power. But truthfully speaking, I’m currently in a superstitious phase- I’ve been playing really well with a naked pure stock Luxx Invikta. I haven’t modified anything with my current paddle bc I’ve been doing well and don’t want to change anything 😂 I most likely will tinker around with it more in the near future, but I encourage people to not just do what the pros or other influencers do. Try different set ups for yourself because it really depends on each player.

    Which of these do you recommend for a newish, 3.0 player who plans to play in tournaments? Lux control air s2/epic/invikta?

    It’s hard to say without seeing your play style, but I can tell you with what I preferred as a 3.0, which was square wide shaped paddles. I struggled more with accuracy and wasn’t able to effectively utilize elongated paddles in the earlier stages. As I improved though, (4.0+), elongated paddles felt way better in more aggressive drives, flick shots, and overhead puts ways. Hope that helps.

    If Selkirk would stop using paint grit from the ancient times I would give them a try again. These paddles get pretty low spin compared to everything else now. And paint grit wears out so quick on these paddles. This guy is sponsored so he doesn’t have to worry about that issue.

  • @edjupickleball

    I’m not really sure what you’re talking about- the Luxx has one of the highest RPM’s of all the top paddles. You can watch chris Olson’s video on that. No paddle, including RCF paddles have grit that lasts forever. The Luxx (Invikta) that I’m using is still gritty even after 50+ play/wall drilling hours.

  • @thehiddenfamily

    @thehiddenfamily

    5 ай бұрын

    @@edjupickleball I did watch Chris and Johnkews top paddles videos and they both highlighted the lux as the best control paddle and they both get top tier spin (I was mistaken on the RPM sorry). They both however go on to say that the paint grit that Selkirk uses wears out significantly faster than any other peel ply carbon fiber paddles they’ve tested. I dont consider paddles that go completely flat in 3 weeks to be a top tier spin paddle if that spin only last for 3 weeks. I fully understand paddles not lasting forever nobody is arguing that but if I have to spend 250 every month or so then is it really worth it? I don’t consider 3 weeks to be forever lol I’ve had two of these paddles and maybe I’m just a crazy spin player or something (I’m not) but both of them are completely bare in several spots. Just my experience.

    @@thehiddenfamily that’s definitely fair and I think that’s an industry issue- like if we would be allowed to apply our own spray on grit (like padel does) it would save all of us so much money.

    @@thehiddenfamily If yours is completely bare in spots after 3 weeks, call Selkirk for replacement. Perhaps you already did that. Once teh paint went bare, did you lose a lot of spin or did you still get pretty good spin?

    @@2musiclover534 I did and Selkirk denied it as “normal wear and tear” I then proceeded to buy another one to just make sure it was just my paddle and it was the same.
