Manny's running for president of the Philippines is just like Floyd M running for president of the United States of America. The only difference is that Floyd is much wiser than Manny in and out of the ring. Floyd knows very well his place in society. And Manny? He wants to have all. His pride is too high and never a humble person he was wrongly known to be. Has mansion in Gensan, bought a $4M house at Forbes Park in Manila. Not content, bought a $4M house in Hollywood even if he does not stay there. He has built a huge yacht, has a plane, owned number of cars. Is that bad? Of course not. It's his hard-earned money. But that is plane "show off"! He talks about the goodness of God and yet he is not doing what he is preaching. Never mind if he became a congressman, that was a simple job. But he could not realize that the only reason he was voted as a senator, a much higher office, was only because the Filipino people owed and thanked him for his exploits in boxing making the Philippines always the center piece every time he fought. But he really has that insatiable hunger for glory, emboldened by his being a guest speaker at Oxford in England, and his being the only eight division world boxing champion. He has not even shown his worth as a senator. Now he wants to be more than that. He wants to be the president of this country as if the job is just like too easy for him to handle. How low is his intellectual capacity is measured by his dreamy promise to provide all squatters free houses of their own if elected president. Could not even realize that by doing so, he will only be multiplying the number of squatters coming to Manila from all sections of the country. What truly bothered me is the party president's incessant push for Manny to run for president knowing full well the job is a tall order for Manny's intellectual capacity.

Trot. he was asked during the interview why he was fighting spence and answered that he wanted to ADD to his legacy. It's his pride and ego now behind this. He wants to be remembered as a poor person who rose from poverty, dominated the world of boxing, and went to become a President. He thinks that he can be great as a politician (not public servant) just as he did as a boxer. nakalimutan niya yatang ilang taon siya sa boxing para gumaling sa karerang ito. I dont wish ill to anyone but I'm happy he lost that fight to Ugas. He should stay at boxing, he doesn't belong to public service

I've lived 2 years in the Philippines and believe me or not, I had a friend who was a close friend of Pacquiao. The guy is extremely nice (I haven't met him personally) but he is known to be not that smart. And he is almost broke because his wife spends more than the millions he makes from boxing. That's why he's into politics. The couple has several mansions but they have no cash. He doesn't have the intelligence and the financial knowledge to run a country.

His speech is exactly what I learn from public speaker 101.. eye contact, no unnecessary um... words, and the power move of getting out from the back of the podium to show boldness/confident. I do feel he has the heart to do good, now it's a matter of his intellect and what exactly his plans of action once/if he become the president. It was weird of him speaking in 3rd person saying his name lol, but that's a good publicity strategy knowing his name is very popular throughout pilipinos and the world.
