Pacing A Steam Train - Reading & Northern
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Enjoy this short segment of a much longer video coming soon. Reading & Northern's stunning (and loud) blue pacific #425 is seen here hauling a sold-out fall foliage excursion at a brisk pace of 35 miles per hour. Toward the end of the video, the train stops at Port Clinton to pick up more passengers en route to Jim Thorpe. Full video to come at a later date. Stay tuned!

Me too
Everything about this clip is awesome...👍
My god, 425 is a beautiful machine. There's something so majestic about a Pacific at speed.
Absolutely breathtaking preview, Joe! From the colors to you're shot selections, I think Stephen Low needs to watch out since I am getting some serious Rocky Mountain Express vibes! I can't wait to see the full video, and it will most certainly be worth the wait. I also have a feeling you will be setting the bar even higher than Lehigh Gorge Express. Good luck on the final push to finish!
I love this steam engine. Greetings Joe 😊
Looks great, Joe. Looking forward to the whole thing!

Hello Joe Fusco, Your videos really fascinate me. Your shots are incredible and very smooth. May I ask what kind of equipment you use?

Does this engine possibly have two whistles on it? When it's coming round the bend it's got a strong three chime sound but when pulling into the station and at the end it's clearly got a six chime sound. I'm confused! 🤔 Anybody got an answer for this?

Good ear. The footage was filmed over the course of several days. In this case, they changed the whistle from a Pennsy 3-chime (heard around the one minute mark) to a Reading 6-chime (heard as the engine is pulling into Port Clinton.) The R&N crew has one of the most impressive collection of whistles in the USA and they like to try different whistles out.

What camera did you shoot this on?
my son wants a map to show where these are. He also wants to know how you got video of the wheels- those low shots that zoom in

@marcidrury4318 Here is a map of all existing steam locomotives in the USA. www.steamlocomotive.info/unitedstates.cfm It's a bit of an old-fashioned website, it's not flashy, but it is a fairly comprehensive list on surviving steamers that are operational and those that are not. I will say a Pennsylvania/Philadelphia and its surrounding area is a hotspot for steam locomotives that are still running, as is southwestern Colorado. The locomotive you see here operates on the Reading, Blue Mountain and Northern railroad based out of Reading and Jim Thorpe, PA. www.rbmnrr-passenger.com Steam power is used on special occasions only.
Awesome video! If you don’t mind me asking what do you film with?
just wondering what camera do you use for filming videos like this?
question, what editing software do you use
Where is this shot
