Striker could have been far more powerful if it had a backup Analog reactor like Gipsy's main power source was. Personally, Cherno Alpha was my favorite, but Striker was certainly up there.

@@3verstorm I doubt a smaller Nuclear Reactor would be able to supply enough power to Striker to be of any worth. Plus the Nuclear Reactors literally gave their Pilots cancer so a back-up probably would've been a bad idea. Plus the problem with EMPs from Leatherback isn't the power source; the problem was Striker's entire interface was Digital (Using circuit boards and such) which got completely fucked and overloaded from the EMP. Gypsy was immune not because the power source was analog (Nuclear Reactors btw aren't Analog), but because the Jaeger itself was Analog. It used gears and pistons across its entire body for movement instead of super Sci-Fi machinery which means it's more robotic moving in comparison to Striker since it literally takes time for Gypsy's gears and pistons to move.

@@3verstorm definitely. Sadly and unfortunately, Striker was a Mark 5 Jaeger. Powered by electricity which means it must've had an electric generator. Sadly there was no backup generator for it to continue fighting Leatherback whom had already disabled Striker using his EMP Organ to generate a huge EMP that wiped out the power of both Striker and the city of Hong Kong.

This movie was basically the Independence Day of my generation.

POV: your watching pacific rim for the ∞th time because pacific rim has unlimited replayability

When I was a kid, whenever I'd feel small or lonely... I'd look up at the stars. Wondered if there was life up there. Turns out I was looking in the wrong direction. When alien life entered our world it was from deep beneath the Pacific Ocean. A fissure between two tectonic plates. A portal between dimensions. The Breach. I was 15 when the first Kaiju made land in San Francisco. By the time tanks, jets and missiles took it down six days and 35 miles later... ...three cities were destroyed. Tens of thousands of lives were lost. We mourned our dead.. ...memorialized the attack... ...and moved on. And then, only six months later the second attack hit Manila. And then the third one hit Cabo. And then the fourth. And then we learned this was not gonna stop. This was just the beginning. We needed a new weapon. The world came together... pooling its resources and throwing aside old rivalries for the sake of the greater good. To fight monsters we created monsters of our own. The Jaeger program was born. There were setbacks at first. The neural load to interface with a Jaeger proved too much for a single pilot. A two-pilot system was implemented. Left-hemisphere, right-hemisphere pilot control. We started winning. Jaegers stopping Kaijus everywhere. But the Jaegers were only as good as their pilots. So Jaeger pilots… …turned into rock stars. Danger... ...turned into propaganda. The second one was very Power Rangersey. Why did they need teenager pilots? Couldn't they have flown in other pilots to go in the rocket-launched Jaegers? (That was a cool concept, but aerodynamics would screw with it IRL. And Square-Cube law, etc, but the load was unbalanced. The rocket would have yeeted the Jaeger's face into the floor.) Still, I loved the original. You could feel the force behind every blow.

This is such an underrated and unappreciated theme. It was already epic. But you guys managed to make it more so.

Truly epic in every aspect- direction, cinematography, graphics, story, character depth, dialogues, acting, and background score. Stacker Pentecost is my all-time favorite character only to be followed by Cooper (Interstellar).
