No, this movie is amazing and deserves to be turned into a franchise. the idea of the 2nd movie was actually good but you don't just turn a fan favorite character into a villain and kill off another fan favorite character. I'm just patiently waiting for pacific rim 3.
You can see in credits this movie was made with passion and love.
