Last year they dont have this issue. Even if their first plan doesnt work they always stick to their strategy. (remember vs NRG at TOKYO). Hell they even have a lot of discipline. Nobody was swinging by itself. I just think they need time to build their consistency. No need to change the whole playstyle but fixing problems that keep showing up

GenG won the tournament without dropping a game but Mimi thinks that TH who lost 3 times played the best valorant in the tournament. Make it make sense

It's nvr enough even if they fkin destroy other team 13-6,13-3,13-4 still they haven't played best valorant. On top of that if GenG didn't throw rounds on icebox it would've been 3-1. Atleast sideshow is mostly neutral in his analysis for any region GenG change up their stuff subtly match after match.

Sure he got the most highlights but Mvp literally stands for Most Valuable Player, so tell me how someone (he wasn't even that statically far ahead from everyone else) who didn't perform in the most VALUABLE stage of the tournament be the most valuable player??????? Make it make sense. If we're just looking at highlights and stats to tell who's the mvp of a tournament then kangkang would've been BY FAR the mvp of tokyo, Mako would've been the MVP of Reykjavik but we didn't hear those opinions from her. Would argue they are already but what does that matter when the cn region is far behind, the only way I would see a cn team do good is bootcamping in NA or EU I would say apac but the best scrim teams are usually booked out by prx and geng

coming out of this masters makes me so excited for champs. I don’t think we’ve have so many teams that I could 100% believe could win. With the exception of China each region has at least one team that can win a championship if not 2 and arguably even 3 if they preform to their peak

I feel like the fact that the only #1 seed to make the top 4 being 100T is flying under the radar. I don’t think the benefits to starting in the Swiss stage are talked about enough. We’ve seen so many teams starting in the top 8 just flop. Paper Rex I think would benefit from actually being the 2# seed and warming up through the tournament

Idk what it is this year, but fnc most of last year and EG by the end of champs looked like peak valorant for me. Both teams functionally looked so incredibly fluid when they were running peak form vs this year that feels somehow sloppier even from teams like sen and geng.

The game is just less structured and formulaic now after all the Skye changes and nerfs, there’s more teams able to match teams that used to be able to go deep in tournaments off of fire power alone. I do think that rosters last year felt more complete around this time but I think the general play has mostly been good, teams are just better at snowballing which leads to more blowouts

Man why is Balla such a gen.g hater? I used to think Balla had good takes, even tho I couldn't stand his voice and especially his laugh lol.. I kinda warmed up to him bc I thought his takes were solid. But man this whole episode just felt like a giant miss but especially the Shanghai part... Like trying to convince ppl that Woot deserved mvp over Munchkin or Texture, even tho TH didn't win and woot had a massive fall off in the last series when it mattered most? Like I could see if he was a total stand out and there wasn't anyone even close to the conversation, imo he doesn't HAVE TO win the whole thing, but he'd have to be just absolutely farming and trying to drag his team over the finish line single handedly.. but that's not the case at all here bc he fell off massively in the grand finals. And was it his fault completely? No ofc not, he needed to be set up better.. but that's the same for EVERY duelist. And you can't deny that there are times when a duelist isn't set up and just goes nuclear, woot had done it and so had every other top tier duelist at times in the tournament. Woot had a fantastic performance for his 1st LAN don't get me wrong, but TH also got to farm the easiest teams in the beginning too so let's be realistic.. like the DRG game just boosted his stats significantly and they also got to face FPX, who have gotten a lot better but aren't a world bester yet, these matches would've been stat farmers for any of the top 4 teams. I think if you take the DRG game out especially his stats are much more inline with others early on. Idk you just can't convince me that when the MVP race is pretty close like that, that you don't give it to the team who played amazing all tournament, didn't lose a single series and won the whole damn thing

Yeah like it's no secret he is EMEA pilled but to this degree I didn't expect that. GenG literally took down all contenders or darkshorses except PRX and FUT. And PRX didn't play their best and they were throwing rounds very much & FUT were very inconsistent anyways. Even the Chinese team GenG faced in FPX was the one who played best from their region.

i’m ngl the competition seemed so weak this masters, and i can’t foresee champs being much better with the duelist changes and new map heretics was playing with a sub and their star player on an off-role for his international debut, and geng looked so weak in their earlier matches of the tourney also g2 came THIRD at an INTERNATIONAL

Bring in NZR instead of com. Com's has a style that fitted in last year's EG. Aspas' gameplay feels like he's just playing for himself, he doesn't care about the team.

The only team at shanghai that could've beat gen g was prx baby, call me nuts idc it's the truth

This might be a hot take, cause yeah G2 and 100T made top 4 and that’s great but I feel like their scores against the finalists are unacceptable. Them being in top 4 shows how strong Americas is but both teams not even being able to win 1 map (all matches being 2-0 or 3-0) is crazy. It could be chalked up to what plat chat said about TH and GenG just over performing and whatnot, but even the maps weren’t very close other than the 100T and TH first map (13-15, 100T needed that map bad). I dunno just a feel a bit disappointed the americas team weren’t able to really put up a fight towards the end. I dunno.

Also, achillios and paperthin deserved to cast the geng winner but riot loves to do random shit
