So amazed at the stamina you and Bigfoot are enduring. 5:35 the burn areas tend to bring melancholy over the loss of the wilderness and its inhabitants but recovery brings new birth. Hoping your foot issues resolve quickly. Nothing worse than foot pain drilling in your head with every footstep. A + narration and beauty

A suggestion for the knees...I found out that if I sit on the floor, leaning back against the couch with my knees up or sit cross-legged anywhere, that it causes me to have knee issues when hiking...not pain, necessarily, just troubled knees. Once I quit sitting that way, I have not had knee issues. Since you end up sitting on the ground a lot when you do get a chance to sit, it might be worth noting how you sit to see if that might help. I would say it takes 2-3 days of sitting in a better position for it to start being noticeable. It sounds crazy but I thought I was not going to be able to hike as much anymore and now my knees are good as new again. Worth a shot!

I think you picked perfect background music for the burn area and I love when you use folk/fiddle type of music that I associate with the AT. I often wonder how you pick your music. I've watched other PCT thru-hikes on KZread but yours has done a better job of making me feel like I'm getting what you're going through daily.

I love the trail. I’m so depressed right now, I wish I could get out on it but the loneliness and being mentally ok with yourself is tough on anyone. Thank you for your videos to provide me with some peace of mind and i hope you keep hiking even after the triple crown is complete. I wanna get back to the trail so bad.

As you are my primary channel to watch for this trek, I will pop over to other just to see where they are compared to if they are ahead or behind you. If they are behind, it's fun to see some of those old sites again as well as to see the other ones not seen thru your eyes. That being said, I watched one last night that was a group of people leaving Belden. They posted it on 8 Jul and they were on Day 94 I believe which when I compare that to your hike, you are maybe 15 to 20 days ahead of them on time of journey (75 vs 94). I see they just posted one today and they reached the half way point at Day 95. Now, I don't know the start time between you two but one could surely see that you guys are kicking ass speed wise, perhaps miles per day too. Either way, I would surely like to entertain a hike like this just to see and experience what you two are (and have) but this will surely take a lot of planning and prep btwn now and then. Continue the journey and as of this posting, you only have 1329 miles to go and in 19 miles, it's all downhill !

Michelle and I drove to CA and looped back from Seattle to West Virginia. We couldn't get over all the smoke from the fires that year. I don't remember a year like it all 16 years I lived on the West Coast. I see from a comment where you're dodging one now. I'm looking forward to when you cross Crater Lake. A classmate owns a KOA on Lemola Lake not far from there. We had a great reunion with old friends... I can't wait to see your reaction to Shasta... Crater Lake, Rainier, etc. Hope that foot heals up. The bit about being stung ... 😅 I wasn't ready for that ... Wow ... You'll have stories and memories...

In a perfect world you could have all the time you needed to hike this trail. Imagine stopping to relax or treat a sore whenever you wanted. But that's just not the way it is. Guess that's why "wimps" don't thru hike. Though sad I am grateful you paused to film the dead trees. Shows respect for their lives their beauty and their death. ❤ I imagine fire season didn't exist when John Muir hiked this trail. What it must have been in those days. But great beauty still exists for us today. ❤

Fires have existed in that area for thousands of years. It’s only now when man’s mismanagement of “ save everything” has caused more intense fires closer together. I’m x Helitack so not talking bs I’ve been there.

When you come from the mid Atlantic states w all the fat lush green forests we have, and not often major forest fires, seeing the very large destruction out west from the big fires is a real shock to the system. It’s eerie. Years ago my sister and I saw our first big old burn on the Oregon side of Hells Canyon. It’s a sight I have never forgotten especially bc it was foggy and rainy. It feels like you are walking through an old cemetery.

Frozen-sorry, but I GOTTA be that guy... With your aches and pains and occasional concerns on their lingering nature... The inflammatory effects of junk food REALLY, REALLY exacerbate those injuries, micro-injuries, microtraumas, etc. When you mention a fairly healthy breakfast burrito in Belden, great! On the way out of town you then mention getting, "Root Beer, Coffee, a whole can of Pringles and uh... a Dr. Pepper." I just chuckled. Not preaching-I'm no better, and I'd eat everything I could get my hands on in your situation, but just one of those, "gentle reminders." It would probably help to just plant that back in your brain a little bit for possible subconscious/subliminal effect! Enjoying the journey. Great work! Keep it up!
