The editing that went into this! Every second was just phenomenal to watch. Beautiful, fantastic! And then you made it. The fires, the floods, the snow, the mosquitos, the broken toe nails...just incredible to watch. My husband watched earlier last week and said this was a must watch. So true. You are awesome! -Alison

Was so cool watching this after completing it a few weeks ago. This year was so different. I jumped up ahead from Warner to Wrightwood then to Kennedy Meadows, back down to Warner, and went Wrightwood and back up to Kennedy. Can ya tell I wanted to miss the snow on San Jacinto? But what was so weird was seeing all your shots of the Sierra. There were so few people this year many of the passes I did alone. When I first jumped up to Wrightwood I spent the next full month without seeing another hiker (day or thru). It was strange but amazing. Felt like what the trail probably felt like back in the '70s. CDT next year to work on my Triple Crown. (crossing fingers) I still give you credit for making this hiking lifestyle possible for me. That tip about renting your place out made all this possible. Much love, -Too Clean

Having watched all of the vids from your triple crown hikes, I have to say that the PCT, for me, was the most evocative of the power and soaring majesty of nature, especially in the West. From scorching, sweaty deserts to rising, snowy ridgelines, and everything in between, it was breathtaking, gorgeous, and humbling to behold on video. It must have been that multiplied by orders of magnitude for you and the others who made the trek. Nicely done, Dixie. I tip my Stetson in your general direction. Be well, and stay safe out there. Happy Trails.

Dixie--a wonderful summary of your trip! I had forgotten: 1) that there was so much Sierra snow that year; 2) that the fires interrupted your trip in Oregon (but I remember now your video of you and your Mom hiking the missing part; and 3) that it dumped snow on you, and rain, during your Washington stretch! Way to hang in there! You are the Queen of the trail!

Well, I never got a chance to walk the entire trail. But in 1980 I worked on the trail, doing the archaeology clearances for it, between the Southern Sequoias, to the Walker pass area. I lived on the trail for 45 days, living in a tent and walking along it. As I currently live in Ridgecrest I meet a lot of the hikers who come down to do laundry and resupply themselves. I enjoy talking to the hikers. As I said, I would love to hike some of the trail, but unfortunately being nearly 70 years old with a bad back, I cannot really make it anymore. So thanks for the video.
