Hey so I'm a Hip Hop dancer with a 4-5 years dance experience and I'm from India. Me and my family were thinking of sending me to the US for a BFA degree in dance. But I'm very confused about alot of things. There are no colleges with a Major in Hip Hop dance, though I even wanted to train in Ballet side by side, but still. Pace University was on my preference list of colleges. But still there is not much Hip Hop. Do students at Pace really get the time to separately train in outside studios? If I'd want to deeply train in my style with the program at the university. And does Pace offer scholarships for international students? Please guide me.

i’m a sophomore in high school and starting to think about colleges and pace has my number 1 interest right now. how can i start doing the intensives you guys offer?

Hi Allie, for the commercial dance fall intensive, you can go to the pace performing arts website (performingarts.pace.edu) and there should be an application link under the “Dance Intensive” program tab... also on that site, there are other prospective student resources / audition info for CD along with all of the other PPA majors!

Are CD majors examined for singing and acting throughout the four years and will those two courses affect their admission? What if dancers have no previous experience in acting and singing?

is there also class on music production?

Do you have to take dance as your major for you to be able go on the LA trip or can you still go if you take dance as a extra curricular?

Hi Aminat! You would have to be a commercial dance major to take the trip to LA as it is part of their curriculum. There are other study abroad options that you could take part in!
