I made a video on Pac-Man World’s remake, Re-Pac a while ago, and I probably would’ve just included Pac-Man World in that video, had I uh, remembered I owned it. I simply forgot, so let’s make an addendum to that video, link in the description, I guess. Pac-Man World was developed in house by Namco, and began life as Pac-Man: Ghost Zone, which was apparently an edgy 90’s reboot open world game, and Namco fired almost everyone involved, scrapped the game, and made something a bit more uh, sensible. Pac-Man World released in 1999, fairly late into the original Playstations life cycle, and would later get rereleased as a digital title on PS3, but the game would also get an alarmingly faithful demake on the Gameboy Advance of all things in 2004, which keeps the core gameplay in-tact and is fairly impressive for kinda pulling it off, but I won’t be discussing that version today.
