Wait, what the heck does this have to do with anything I normally upload? The answer - it doesn't. I've practically run out of children's computer games to walkthrough, so it's time to begin branching out. I decided to start off simple here - a walkthrough to a "remake" of Pac-Man. I had this game lying around on Namco Museum for the PS2, so I figured why not? This was originally on the Namco Classics Collection Volume 2 arcade game. The game plays mostly like the original Pac-Man, but there's several notable differences:
-The game has a graphical and sound upgrade (no crap)
-There are several different mazes rather than just the same one over and over
-Power-ups. There's a red one that speeds you up, a pink one and a sack that traps the ghosts, a cane that turns them into presents, a blue one that mirrors your locations, and an orange one that gives you extra points.
-Kinky, a new ghost. He's not your average ghost either. He appears at the ghost home and is always vulnerable, and if you eat him he acts as a power pellet. If you don't act soon enough, he'll turn a ghost into a large ghost, and each of them have special abilities. Pinky can jump across the maze, Blinky can charge horizontally, Inky can mirror his locations, and Clyde can respawn Pac-dots. I often get a little too focused on him. If you eat a vulnerable large ghost, they are double the points.
-There is an option to continue. Since this is on the PS2, you can just continue infinitely, but your score will reset.
-The dash arrows. They send you speeding across. If you cross a ghost, they will be stunned unless vulnerable. One thing that few people seem to know is that you can turn corners while using these.
-Jump arrows. They send you to the other arrow of the same color.
-There is a boss at the end of the game. In his first form, you have to keep eating Pac-dots until a power pellet appears. This will kill off the current color that is invading. In his second form, you have to keep eating Pac-dots until he eventually blows up.
If you're wondering why I start with six lives, it's an option. I leave it on the highest setting so you don't see the continue screen every ten seconds.
This is a pretty dang good remake of Pac-Man. The one thing I really like about it is that when you play with two players, you play simultaneously. It even compares your scores at the end of each level, which is a really nice touch. Multiplayer aside, the new features were also welcoming, although I do wish Kinky would appear less often. The other features, however, did do some contributing rather than just feeling tacked-on. It's a pretty good game, and it's definitely worth getting along with everything else Namco Museum on the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube offer. I will be doing Galaga and Dig Dug Arrangement some time later.

This is one of my favorite versions of Pac-Man, mainly for the option to continue, smoother frame rate, nice sound effects, and great music! I have it on the PlayStation 2 version of "Namco Museum." Great job on this walkthrough!

It's a different pitch though.
I just have so much nostalgia for Pac-Man arrangement due to the amount of times I played this with my sister when we were younger. It’s the best.
Wonder why they don't use Kinky anymore- Sure his name is susceptible to making people snort, but he has an awesome power. Although, I could have sworn that, if he never catches a ghost, he supersizes himself instead...

Yeah, Thinky would be a potential replacement name.
This is the best Pac-Man game EVER in my opinion. I was so pissed when they completely erased this game and replaced it with the PSP/PC shit you see today...

I played the arcade version with my mom a few times at a TILT arcade (on the "Namco Classic Collection Vol. 2" machine) That and Ski-Ball were my favorites... I still play the GBA version every now and then. Great take on the famous game!

Oh the memories! I first played it accidentally while wanting to play classic Pac-Man on my dad's Pac-Man Collection (played it in my DS) when I was a kid and was so confused. Heaven knows how many times I've played and beat it! Loved the soundtrack (especially the World 4 music) and I always got a kick out of the robot going berserk in the boss level! But I feel like the only one who's noticed that Clyde and Inky also but rarely get mad and raise their arms like Blinky when he becomes Cruise Elroy. Maybe it's a glitch...

No, it's not a glitch. If pac-man stays alive for a long time then all the ghosts will have a cruise elroy effect but still follow their ai targets.
Oh man this brings memories... playin this in the car on my GBA, having so much fun... i never knew how to say 'arrangement' so i pronounced it 'arnnngment'

I still remember the time that me (around age 13) and my brother (around age 10) played this game together and when we beat the game, I shouted "WE ARE THE KINGS OF PAC-MAN!!" or something like that. But that's just a figure of speech. Or... whatever it's called.

I’m making a Super Mario Maker 2 remake version of that Pac-Man game as a tribute for the 40th anniversary of Pac-Man
In World 5, I thought the keys and the locks were super important! Like a secret or something!

Notice some of the power-ups are color-coded pills? One is a wand or some stick that turns ghosts into gift boxes (they are vulnerable), there's one that you can mirror your locations until you beated the round or you got caught, just like Inky does if Kinky catches up with Inky.
Play this off my 'Cube all the time. But it's a shame the only home console ports have such fuzzy visuals. I bought the Pac-Man museum package last gen not realizing the arrangement was the 2005 version, and not the 1996 one. (Plus, they held out Ms. Pac-Man as a five dollar dlc, the bastards. At least it has Super Pac..) Of course, the gameplay is the most important thing, but still odd that the 1996 game is pretty neglected. It's much better then 2005 arrangement, imo.

I use to play this a lot on my Game boy haha. Good times after I leave church, I pop this baby and boom haha. The soundtrack is what also got me interested
@Hondo20132 Oh yeah, Pac-Man Collection. I played that at one point. Funnily enough, all games included on there were included on this game xD
God the noises the ghost make when getting trapped in the bag or taking damage in the boss fight..makes me feel bad...
I have to say, the 1978 up the way up to 2006 was the golden age of Namco Games dude, things were so simple and reliable back then along with popular Namco Games such as Pac-Man, Pac-Man World, Ridge Racer Revolution, Soul Calibur 2, Pac-Man Arrangement, Pac-Man World 2, Pac-Mania, Galaga, Dig Dug, and other. Nowadays, even the 2010s, they ruined their Mascot, Pac-Man alot, with the crappy Ghostly Adventures design, and other stuff that their company went downhill.
I always thought the capsules were magic wands when I was younger.
Cool, they made a Mappy reference! :D in 16:31, they use the bell from Mappy.
Listen carefully at 1:18, you can hear the boo laugh from Super Mario
To this day I still question why this doesn't get rereleased? 🤔

+The Sauber C9 Guy Animations Forgot the PS2 is a chopped up version of the original Pacman arrangement from the arcade machine Namco Classic Collection Vol. 2
