I found a badly injured female parrot last year in our garden and her wings were full of blood and feathers were plucked. She also couldn't see from her one eye and the vision of the other eye was also very less. I thought I should try to save her and I took her inside and took care of her as my own baby. She never came outside the cage on her own. I felt as if she was scared of outer world. I also have a couple of Alexandrine parrots and I thought she will be happy with them, but my older female parrot never accepted her nor did she. So I also didn't want any of them to fight as the little one was already having bad vision. I did everything I could to give her a better life. She got all her feathers back, ger vision became much better (as she started pulling tails of my older parrots in case their tails touched her cage), but she never like to come out of cage. I couldn't see her like this. I decided to make her come out of the cage everyday so that she also experiences to live freely. She even flew a little bit one day. But day before yesterday...she was sitting in her cage and I was asking her to come out. She had been eating much less from the last 2 days from day before yesterday and I thought she's getting depressed due to her condition. I don't know what was going on with her. So I opened her cage and offered her a grape thinking that she would come out of it herself so as to eat the grape. But she was unable to see it again. My heart started beating fast seeing that something is not right with her. Before I could understand anything, she jumped inside the cage again from the threshold of its door and started climbing the cage. After taking just 2-3 steps, she suddenly cried in full voice and fell down on one side (which was already weak since she came to me) but earlier she would get up herself, but that day she was unable to get up and she kept crying. I immediately tried to help her in getting up but she kept crying. So I took her out of the cage and her voice...she started feeling choked and I was myself scared a lot that I may lose her. I started massaging her throat but in vein. She died in my hands within a few seconds. All this happened in less than a minute. I don't know what wrong I did. My parents are blaming me for her death saying that I used to give her ghee vali roti, but she never ate much of it. She used to eat more of fruits than roti. Without ghee she didn't eat it. My other two parrots are with us from last 8 years, and by God's grace they are doing well. They love me a lot and so do I. She never ate cheese or any other thing that had calcium. I wanted to keep her calcium levels balanced and the only way I could do it was giving her ghee vali roti (as we eat obviously not completely soaked in ghee). I also tried giving her parrot food but she also didn't eat it ever. So I was left with only one option, to give her fruits, corn and roti. That was all she ate and I could offer her. But she died. I don't know whether she was scared of me that day that she got a heart attack or a paralytic attack. Or was she sad and depressed for not being able to see and fly like others. I don't know what was the exact reason. But I am really feeling guilty for not being able to give her a long and happy life as I had expected. Since her death, I am still feeling as if I have lost one of my own baby. Her dying in my hands and seeing her little body in my palms was such a painful sight for me that I still can't come out of it. I really didn't want her to go like this ever. May she have a wonderful life in her next birth and she never suffer again as she suffered in this life. 😣💔😭😭😭😭😭😭 I decided I would never try to save any other animal or bird again in my life as many a times I fail and my babies die which hurts me more than anything in this world. But one of my friends told me "we can't stop helping them because of our fear of getting hurt" and this made me realise that I was getting selfish. But this pain of losing a loved one is unbearable...I don't know how would I overcome this guilt and vault that I am feeling inside me right now. Mera bacha is no more with me... 😭😭😭😭😭

Or she would take me with her as well. My little one...she was such an innocent being. 💔 And please... it's a request to everyone who reads my comment to pray that baby gets the best next life and she be happy wherever she is right now. 😭
