PA30 (Twin Comanche) A,B and C model comparison

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

A walk around of our Piper PA30 Twin Comanche. This Twin Com is a 1969 PA30C model, which is essentially identical to the PA39 that superseded it.
A little bit of an airplane “will it start” video, seeing as it had sat for a month or so.
The Piper Twin Comanche was a development of the single engine PA24 Comanche, and is popular amongst business travellers to this day.
The PA30 is fitted with two Lycoming IO320 engines, producing 160hp per side.
This Twin Comanche is actually for sale! So let me know if you’re interested.

Marvellous aircraft the laminar flow wing lets it just slide through the air. It's just a shame that it wasn't fitted with 200hp engines as standard.

Yep! 200hp per side would make a great aircraft even better.

Will you be posting the airframe and engine times and comments on logs and damage history?

I can if you like! However probably easiest for me to email through if you’re interested. Send me an email via toby@blueskyairways.com.au In round figures though, 4700 hours on the airframe, and one engine 1/2 life and the other 2/3 life.

They’re a great runabout! We’ve just found the Duchess easier for students to transition into as their first twin. It did sell actually! The deposit was paid, then the fellow disappeared! So we’re about to relist it. Nothing outstanding on the to do list, if we were to keep it though I’d like to redo the panel, it’s a bit dated with the timber veneer!

@@aeroplanetoby Hey, I like that false woodgrain! Gives it a bit of character compared to plain metal or plastic. It is a bit weathered, I will admit. Also, nice panel full of stuff. Never got around to flying one of them. My time was in Apaches and Aztecs. Twin Comanches are much sleeker, but more cramped as you pointed out.
