Sir, english subtitles would have help us. We missed the content,but the flow of free and open discussion, very genuine and honest is visible.

If this film makes it big (atleast a oscar nomination), it is going to open doors for other small films and give confidence to produce such films in TN and rest of India. It will also increase exposure of mainstream, general audience to good cinema! Towards a better cinema! Jeichidu maara!!

@@rohini8634 While it's very good to read such words, reality is so different. Let's first acknowledge that it is not easy for a filmmaker to take his/her films to a wider audience without the presence of a STAR either acting in it or backing it. We talk a lot about content, but let's just acknowledge the hypocrisy or unwillingness in audience. Hope pebbles breaks that

@@rohini8634 small films are also those films that don't get enough screens in theaters becuz theaters don't find value in them. So if any big star movie comes max screens are alloted to them, even if the content is not so good.If that has to change audience shd start watching small films

@@rohini8634 mark my words.. had this film not went to festivals and winning or get an Oscar nomination, it would not have found enough screens to play in India. So while ur intention is right, actual reality is very different.
This film gives a different film experience and this had a unique and different film language

I loved the film. Released for UK festival and I went to see it. Nice story but incredible photography and acting.

In one of the scenes there was this Mirage like image of a woman(where we hear only the 'anklet' sound) and the Father gets hurt... I couldn't understand what the director's trying to say at that moment :( Can anybody explain?

I honestly don't know why we bother sending films for the Oscars every year. We won't ever win it. It has nothing to do with the film itself. The film might be great but the global perception of Indian films is very poor. No academy member in their right mind will ever vote for us.
sad that the movie is now out of oscar race!

VIGNESH Nayan duo took this excellent movie TO award shows, but failed to release in local theatres.Shame on them.. When whole world appreciates, the director would want his village and community see this movie in their talkies.
