Sitting here with my jaw on the floor. Still beyond amazed that something so stunning comes out of a few bugle beads, seed beads and elongated pearls.

My bugle beads dont sit as neatly so I go over them another time, attaching only the bottom xtra seedbeads to each other to make them sit more tightly.

Beautifull desigm. I am happy to see you using Fireline.,Bugles beads has very charp edges, I wouldn't trust Miyuki thread for that.Thank you.

True! I call bugles "thread cutters".

Danae Thank you for asking. TBH, I'm not even sure what I'm going to use on this design! My fave thread us Nymo D so when I use bugles in say, a flat herringbone bracelet I always modify the design to add a seed bead on either side of each bugle and I always reinforce any rows with bugles by stitching a second time. But reinforcement won't be possible for this due to the need to go through the central spiral beads 4 times already so the holes will fill up with thread - although I will definitely be reinforcing the rice-pearl sections! I don't have a beading store within 350kms of where I live miles from anywhere in Australia, so think I will just tweak the design by adding a sz 15/0 seed bead (probably in Pearlised White to match the rice-pearls I have), one on either end of each bugle bead, and compensate for that extra length by adding one more sz 11/0 in the central spiral column. I hope that makes sense to you?? Otherwise I will have to bite the bullet and order some Fireline for this project online.. I'm sure I'll get used to using it. I just love Nymo D as the universal thread for everything! But I've always wanted to make Jill Wiseman's famous Capriccio Bangle which must be Fireline for adding the outer crystal embellishments as they're also effective little thresd-cutters .. so maybe it's time that I broadened my thread horizons! Happy beading .. it's nice to meet others who have to solve design issues also : ) Kindest regards from Australia! EDIT: HOLD THAT!! I just watched again and she already puts on a seed bead either side of the bugle beads so your thread should be quite okay!!! I'll just do mine in Pearlised White and see how it looks before I go too far : )

Danae Hi Danae. I don't think that I have ever reproduced anything as it's shown! Nope .. I definitely haven't. I usually create my own designs and just look tomthese for inspiration. I always find ways to do my own thing with other people's designs. I do like the rice pearls but I just got in a couple of dozen strands of tiny genuine rice pearls from Japan so I would use them .. but some metallic beads would work just as well .. even gemstone chips with clear glass rounds (I'm always looking for ways to use them!) But I never use these silver lined silver beads in anything because in just a few months they get a'greyed out' look to them. I had to laugh .. when Aussies travel overseas they can sometimes seem like a bunch of backward, uneducated drunks - and some are party animals, LOL. Years ago there was a lone American tourist whose car broke down in my little town. With no motel or place to stay, we offered for him to come and stay with us until the parts arrived and the mechanic could fix it. My husband and I were in our early 30s and we'd drop him off at the pub each day on our way to work and pick him up again on our way home, but my God we had so much fun with him ... He was terrified of the 'drop-bears' and we didn't tell him there's no such thing until the day he left a week later to continue his 3-month solo tour around Oz. His name was Peter so we called him Pedro, and he stayed in touch regularly with us for 6 years, and then his calls just stopped. One day his sister called to tell us that he'd been killed in a car accident back in the US. Life (and death) is such a strange thing .. I still think about him with the fondest memories whenever I hear an American accent : ) And yes, the Platypus must be THE weirdest animal ever dreamed up .. a mammal that lays eggs!!! I must try beading a 3D version of one! Take care there in Arizona .. hugs!

Danae Haa haaa haaaa haaaa!! You're invited to our parties anytime, LOL .. You sound like you have a wonderful sense of humor, and TBH - just finding nice people on KZread can be a challenge .. especially when people use a nom de plume and a symbol or avatar .. it gives them the courage of cowardice to abuse and swear at people for no reason whatsoever! But I'm an Aussie .. so I know some choice words with more than 4 letters that a lot of cowards don't even know the meaning of .. or how derogatory they are, LOL. It's pretty safe on beading channels, but as soon as you move into territory that requires an opinion .. well, KZread sure brings out the nastiest and most mentally ill people on the planet. I think it's sad that people can just abuse perfect strangers just because they feel anonymous. I use my real name and photograph, always have. But I get tired of the lip .. perhaps they don't expect 78yo ladies to bite back quite as hard or as viciously? LOL. I do try to avoid it, but I don't take it too well. I've been thinking about that platypus but I have too many other projects on the go... I give a lot away but sell the rest. What about you? What kind of beading do you like best and what do you do with it? BTW, Pedro had a wonderful time with us and vice versa .. we laughed non stop, and he never forgot our hospitality until the day he died. He even copied us and took up home brewing his own beer, LOL. I think country folk are just like that everywhere : )
