Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder/condition that impairs mobility. It develops as a result of decreased dopamine levels in the brain area responsible for movement. Without enough dopamine, the brain is unable to send messages that effectively coordinate movement.
Without adequate dopamine, this equilibrium is broken, resulting in tremor (trembling in the hands, arms, legs, and jaw), rigidity (limb stiffness), slowness of movement, and decreased balance and coordination - all of which are hallmark signs of Parkinson's disease.
