I’m so glad this came up on my recommendations. I’m doing my first solo cruise next month and I’ve been so torn between Briksdal glacier and some of the other excursions. I didn’t even know about the land train so I’m definitely going to set aside some of my day for that. Thanks so much for sharing your adventures. 💫

Looks amazing, going in September and booked the glacier walk for the morning, can you remember what time you had to be back in the ship? Wondering if we will have time to do the skylift in the afternoon! ☺️

Thank you for showing this day! I’m going in April 2024 and trying to decide if to book in advance with P&O excursions or book onshore, looks pretty easy and better value to do the latter! Beautiful views, I hope the weather for us is the same you experienced.

@@Travellifewithlucy Don’t! We’ve just been on the Iona and we were very disappointed by the lack of service! The ship is lovely but a little bland. All the restaurants and excursions where booked up by the middle of the trip. There’s a reason why P&O are so cheap at the moment. There’s no great buzz about the ship. The staff are nice but not interested. The buffet food was very hit and miss too. Stale cakes🤮. Norway was fantastic but we would use a different cruise company next time ☹️.

@@mdiz4564 sorry you had a bad experience ☹️ if you don’t like P&O then I highly recommend Celebrity Cruises! The first time I went to Norway was with them and everything (especially the service and buffet) was absolutely outstanding!!

We loved Olden! One of the prettiest ports we have ever been to. The sky lift looks so good, those views! 😯 and the sledding! You almost falling off 😂 We will have to do it next time (though I might have to take Nathan kicking and screaming!) 😜 Great video!

I agree! Such a beautiful place! The sledding was so fun, but it was a steep slope down to my right that I did NOT fancy 🤣 there were plenty of other blokes screaming 🤣 thanks so much for watching 🥰

This was really useful we're on the same cruise in August and Im trying to decide if I should do the same as you and book excursions myself to save money.

I did the little train and it's well worth the money. I went the week before you ,the views in olden are amazing

Really enjoying your videos on Iona , I m on Iona the same time as you were, but next year 😊 can I ask how far was it from the top of the sky lift to the little snow cave ? Just wondering how far of a walk it is , thank you 🙂

Hiya! Aw amazing! I found it completely fine, when you get into the skylift, if you are facing the cliff then this would be easier, and it only takes a couple of minutes to go up! At the top you don’t need to go near the edge to appreciate the views ☺️ hope you have a lovely cruise! Xx

Yep we booked both independently, the land train you buy tickets from staff in the bright green/yellowy jackets standing next to the train & the skylift tickets we bought from the white building directly off of the ship ☺️

Do not believe I would take a lift like that. If you drag the slege up you could ride it down. Was that an egg roll or a spring roll? There is a difference. You looked like you enjoyed yourself there.

Haha it was very safe and worth it for the views at the top! Yes we took the sledge up and rode it back down part of the mountain! It was a spring roll ☺️ We had a great day in Olden!

Hiya, for 2 adults we paid £122 in total which included the bus return 😊

A lot of the ports in the Norwegian Fjords will be unavailable after 2025, unless the ship is zero emission.
