While planning a house, due to space constraints, many people tend to ignore a separate temple or pooja room but we must not sideline the need to make a place for God. Thus by creating a room for worshipping, we are creating a room to get charged with positive vibrations every morning and that energy will energize our environment, mind, body and soul. Our work efficiency will increase and so the progress, prosperity and peace.
In today's Vastu tips, Acharya Indu Prakash tells you in which direction you should put idol or pictures of God in the temple or prayer room. According to Vastu Shastra, it is considered appropriate to place the idol and picture of any goddess and deity on the wall on the east or north side of the house of worship. Never face the idol or picture of God towards the north, otherwise, the worshiper will face towards the south. Never build a house of worship in the south direction.
Always keep in mind that God'sidols should never be kept on the ground, rather it should be kept on a wooden post or flat.
Puja room is one the most auspicious and sacred rooms of your home. Praying not only gives us strength but also is essential for mental and spiritual satisfaction. According to Vastu Shastra, the North East zone or the Eeshan corner of a house is the best suited area for placing the Puja room. One has to follow certain rules to keep the idols in the pooja room.

According to Vastu Shastra, the North East zone or the Eeshan (Ishan) corner of a house is the best suited area for placing the Puja room. One has to follow certain rules to keep the idols in the pooja room. Once you have made a pooja or prayer room in your home then “the room” automatically starts to attract positivity and harmony.
As per pooja room vastu, north-east corner of home is best site for pooja place. East and west are second best locations. Keep the idols in east and/or west of the prayer room. Make sure that all the idols are always in perfect condition. Make the roof of the Puja room dome or pyramid-shaped. This facilitates smooth flow of positive energies from the tip to the dome or pyramid into the puja room. This shape also assists in meditation.
Lord Ganapati placed in the centre. Male Deities should be placed to the right side of Ganapati and Female Deities to his left. However, Lord Ganesha should be kept on the left side of the Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Saraswati should be placed on the right side of Goddess Lakshmi. Although north-east is generally the direction recommended for locating the deities or pictures of various Gods.
Your prayer room must not only be a sacred space, but it should also exude positive energy that will help you relax and meditate. When the temple or prayer area is properly constructed as per Vastu Shastra, it can provide the home and its inhabitant’s health, wealth, and happiness. While every Indian household has a puja room, have you ever pondered why some give off a positive feeling as soon as you walk in, while others don't? The answer might be because only a few individuals are familiar with Vastu concepts. To make things easier for you, we've compiled a list of the most significant puja room Vastu guidelines for your home.
When erecting the temple, avoid placing it straight on the ground. Well, Nitien Parmar of VastuPlus suggests keeping it on a higher platform or pedestal. Either stonework or timber should be used to construct the temple. Glass or acrylic temples should be avoided. Do not overcrowd the temple. Make sure you don't have several idols of the same Deity in the temple, whether they're sitting or standing. “Idols or pictures put in the temple should not be broken or torn, as this is regarded as unlucky,” Parmar of VastuPlus advises.
Pujas ought to be performed wherever the temple is located. The entire family usually prays together during festivities. As a result, make sure there is adequate room for the entire family to assemble and pray. The aura in the temple area should be healthy and balanced. So make it tidy and free of dust and insects, and don't overcrowd the area with too many embellishments.
Your puja room's placement is essential in determining its auspicious ambiance. The best direction is north-east, followed by east and north. If you're building a new house and have discretion over where your puja room is located.It's ideal if your prayer room is built on the ground level.
