Pádraic Maher - Beating Kilkenny, never going back-to-back and coping with retirement
Спорт
In this week's The Square Ball, Lee Keegan and Dave McIntyre are joined by three-time All Ireland winner, former Tipp hurler Pádraic Maher.
Pádraic was in studio with Lee and David to his first All-Ireland victory with Tipperary, why that Tipp side never went back-to-back, avoiding a red card in the 2012 final, celebrating free kicks and the chilling diagnosis that forced him to prematurely call time on his career.
The Square Ball is a new weekly Gaelic Games show, powered by William Hill.

Loving these podcasts lads! Would love a similar podcasts with other retired hurling stars, the likes of Joe canning, Seamie Callanan or bubbles 😊
Baldy asking questions like he’s a former player . Needs to be reminded that he’s a just a journalist. They should take tips from the hurling pod their set up . Love Keegan though pure class act
Brilliant again. Pádraic Maher was a class hurler, he was very lucky that the brain injury didn't get worse. I would like to point out something in relation to one of the questions Dave asked Pádraic about why Tipp never managed 2 in a row. He mentioned the Dublin footballers doing 6 under Gavin, they did, but they weren't the same team, Gavin had fed in some new players between 15 and 20.
Pauraic surprisingly saying that Tipp team wasn't a great team. I have heard ex Kilkenny players like Paul Murphy say Tipp were a great team so why say that about your own? He didnt have a valid reason for npt doung 2 in a row but that they won 3 All Ireland and were a great team imo.
Would love someone to do a pod with Colin Lynch from Clare. Not sure he would agree to it but would be a very interesting one.
Joe canning would be a really interesting interview & james horan
Ask hard man Paudie why he dived onto the ground like he had just been shot to get someone sent off in 2019 All Ireland quarter final.
Bout time ye had a hurler on
They are right tho that tipp team was v good but not great. They were unlucky the came up against great teams... ie kk and lim. But compared to the shambles of a tipp team they have now they are poles apart
