P-51 Mustang "AMERICAN BEAUTY" CAP. John Voll

Спорт

Large scale P-51 Mustang "AMERICAN BEAUTY" John Voll.
This aircraft is a perfect scale from Composite-Arf, builded in only 600 hours aprox. The engine is a 80CC ZDZ RV and total weight 17kg. MTOW.
Elevator, ailerons, flaps, rudder, engine gas, choke, positions and landing lights, open/close canopy, radiator door, retracts and bay doors whit sequencer.. all moving by remote control JR PCM10X. Two battery packs for power the avionics and on pack for engine electronic ignition.
In the instruments panel you can see the air pressure gauge totally functional and the power leds and electronic switches.. And the mechanical choke to star the engine.
This is one of my favorite jewel.
In honor to this USAF guys that make our freedom in a WWII.
Thanks very much.
Luis Aceituno

Dam, that's the coolest P51 model I've ever seen! My dad was an air Traffic controller. When we moved to Cheyenne in 1960 the Air National guard still had P51s . Ever since the first time I saw 1, it's been my all time favorite plane. I wish I could see yours in person. I'm a nut for models of any kind, but especially P51s! Had to let you know how impressed I am with your build. Great job!!!!

I believe the real P51 was based out of Edmonton Alberta Canada under the name of "What's Up Doc?" This warbird was flown by Ross Grady through the '80's and was transformed into "American Beauty" not too long ago. Also I think it may have served in the Bolivian Air force in it's younger days. Beautiful video.....Awesome airplane.

I built a 1/4 scale Don Smith P-51 and the wings had 3/4 inch wash out. I am thinking this one must have wash out built in also. Mine would not hold a candle to your workmanship. It is beautiful. But I had a lot of enjoyment during those long hours spent building it.

ikr! Personally, I enjoy a lot of 1920-1950s music. 1940s were a good time! ^_^ And a lot of music in that era was war suited, meaning they were singing about or something along the lines of war.

Great looking Mustang. I can certainly appreciate the work involved in the scale details, and the nostalgic audio seems perfectly fitting in your video presentation of such a fine example of modelling craftsmanship. I have but one quibble to note and that is the obvious lack of a four blade scale propeller for that wonderful warbird, but 9 out of a possible 10! cheers!

You must to have a stainless steel tube of 1 1/4" and cut two pieces. In one size of each you make a stopper and in the other solder other small tube to connect with "Y" to engine. Both will have a holes (one per cylinder) were soldered small tubes with correct angle and scale. In my case, between "Y" and engine, has a muffled along inside fuselage to have more power. best regards, Luis

You are missing a few things inside the cockpit, and some things are out of place. The two fuel gauges were practically under the seat, instead of in front of it. No prop pitch, mixture, and throttle grip??? Radio and electric equipment is on the right side of the cockpit, so a pretty good job I guess. Tail warning light on the top left of the dash? It looks like a horn almost. Gunsight? No gear handle. I didn't see an oxygen regulator system, but maybe I just didn't see it? STILL, a HUGE, FANTASTIC JOB MAN!!! Liked and subscribed.
