Lyrics:
Mr. Crowley, won't you ride my white horse?
Mr. Crowley, it's symbolic, of course
Approaching a time that is classic
I hear that maiden's call
Approaching a time that is drastic
Standing with their backs to the wall

    Ozzy was incredibly famous before his solo career started. When you have your pick of hired guns, you’re going to have a great guitarist. There are many talented guitarists in the world that are playing 4 chord pop songs for the Taylor Swifts of the world. Zakk is fortunate to have landed a gig that allowed him to be himself.

    I'm not the biggest Zakk fan on earth, but he did RR's solos justice on this live album. The way he played them was 85 percent Randy and 15 percent Zakk, and I can appreciate the literal hell out of that. The recording was very heavily produced, which leaves me to wonder how many corrective measures were taken in post production (like KISS Alive II revealed to all of us about 'live' albums), but it made for an enjoyable listening experience so I'm not going to complain

    Hmmm, he does nod to Randy from time to time but his sound is heavy with effects. I'm not a fan, simply because I went to see Ozzy with Jake e lee once, not knowing that they had parted ways and Zakk Wilde came on stage, I was soooo disappointed. Never really got over it.

  • @freepressright

    @freepressright

    @Answers in Reality when you consider how Zakk phoned it in on the Pantera stuff, at least during the first leg of tours, you can appreciate what parts of Randy's work he actually DID keep intact here. And I guess context is what I would emphasize here. When you look at the context of Zakk's career and how he kind of does his own thing now, he put more into it back then. Obviously I would never argue that he's a Randy clone, and if anyone thought so, I apologize for the misunderstanding.

    This live version is perhaps the best version of this epic song. While many ppl praised how great Zakk played the legendary RR solos, I couldnt help but listen to the beats of drum like rainfalls and the bass in second and third guitar solo. All combined together to deliver this perfect version. What a great song!
