This is so good. The automatic assumption is as SpO2 goes up, O2 to the tissues is increased. What's almost never described is why an SaO2 is typically 97-98%, i.e. the difference is dissolved in plasma as PaO2 as it transits to tissues. Love your sarcastic humor!

Excellent question! Binding won't help if you are not gonna release it to tissue. What increases binding is more red blood cell production (secondary polycythemia) thanks to EPO.

how simple : right shift means the SaO2 reduces on the Y-axis, while a left shift means SaO2 increases and on the Y-axis and Sao2 rises
