    I lived in Manhattan and had one of the first 2018 model 3s. There was hardly any charging avail. I’d drive up to White Plains super charger to charge up all the way. Sometimes I’d plug into the power outlets in the sidewalk planters lol just to trickle charge (legal? Not sure). NYC is sooooo far behind sometimes with this stuff. Eventually got a parking garage which was $520/mo that installed a level 2 charger

    Great video! Sold me on why I wouldn’t get an EV in NYC until parking garages near where I live can charge my car overnight. Don’t see myself driving around looking for a charger and then hanging around for 45 minutes or more. Takes less than a few minutes to do the same thing at a regular pump.

    @Amadeus Luciiann If the charging infrastructure and vehicle range support one’s lifestyle, they should; they’re the future, they’re just not quite the present yet. That’s all I was trying to convey.

  • @utsavratti

    @utsavratti

    3 жыл бұрын

    @Amadeus Luciiann The New York Times just published an interesting analysis. It focuses broadly on the U.S., so not quite the geographies that you mentioned, but some stats: by 2035, 13% of vehicles on the road will be electric (assuming 25% of new sales are electric vehicles by then). In 2050, the majority will still run on gasoline (based on 60% of new sales being electric). To get to fully electric by 2050, sales of gasoline vehicles would have to stop by 2035. I doubt that will happen in the U.S., given that we still haven’t gotten our act together with respect to race, gender, pay, guns, women’s rights, etc. Gasoline cars will just be another issue on an already growing list of issues that divides us.

    Most important question, how much is the insurance?

  • @CogSlayer98
    @CogSlayer984 жыл бұрын

    I hope this question doesn't get taken the wrong way. Everything about this car makes so much sense, it would be a dream to own one. But the cost is still so high. You look young, what allowed you to afford the cost? I work hard, but it will be several more years before my career begins to allow me or afford such things. Do you have any advice?

  • @jeremycardenales588

    @jeremycardenales588

    I get this question all the time , The cost of the car upfront is expensive but pays off in the long run. I spend whenever i super charge $12.00 suppose to others with BMW'S and Mercedes Benz $50.00 on fuel. What i do now to afford it is i am a licensed real estate agent in NYC and i am in the army national guard. To be able to afford anything you want , I would say the first step is to eliminate any debt you have and prioritize your wants from needs. If you are going to make a purchase of a "want" transfer that money over to your savings so you " pay yourself" Hope that helps thanks for watching !
