Well done! I have the 2011 awd 2.4L version. And I agree with all your assessments on this excellent vehicle. I have never seen a version with the rear view camera on the mirror. Of course, I'm in the USA, so our models are different, I guess. My one and only complaint is that the power isn't that great. But being I only drive on the highway, that's kinda not an issue. In the reliability department, this car is top-notch. Mine has 312,000 + miles on it and is still running perfectly. Everything still works except for the sunroof and the fog lights. Which is not even necessary. The dash and all interior components are still as you said, like new. The engine bay is clean as a whistle with no leaks. Even the undercarriage is rust free and in great condition. There are some creaks and moans from underneath that I have yet to find out the causes. I still drive it 70 miles 6 days a week in complete confidence. I definitely recommend this vehicle to anyone searching for a good, reliable vehicle. Mine was manufactured in Korea, which may contribute to its quality. Thanks for sharing this video and much love from Florida USA ❤️ 🇺🇸.

Good review. I rarely see fellow Malaysian review this car. Very rare car in East Malaysia, especially in KK Sabah la I think. I can count how many sportage I saw here. Love the design. The newer 1 comes with the r2 diesel engine. Torque damn kaw2 around 400nm. Tapi tula maintenance a bit worrying since not many people using this car.

Hello. Thank you for the in-depth review. I've been looking for updated reviews for this gen sportage for a while now, and I've only found yours so I've been happy to watch this. Also, I'm considering to get the 2012/2013 or the 2014/2015 slightly facelifted version but I can't find any obvious comparison videos. What would be the main differences other than the updated driver panel and media functions? Is the engine the same? When you mentioned that the facelift includes more reclinable back seats and rear air cond vents, did you mean the 2016/2017 version onwards? Which would be worth getting? 2012/2013 or 2014/2015? Hope you'll answer my comment 🙏🙏🙏

Hello. First of all thanks for watching my video. This particular particular Sportage belongs to my father actually. He bought it back in 2012. The 2014 (3rd gen facelift) has an updated 2.0 "NU" engine (154PS) over my dad's one which is a 2.0 "Theta II" (166PS). The 2014 also have a "steer flux" steering system which allows you to change the steering from normal, sport or comfort. The 2014 also have a 2 step reclining rear seat bot no aircond vents. The 2016 mode(4th gen) does have both 2 step reclining rear seat and rear air vents. But I looses out on the panoramic sunroof. The 2014 model have 2 spec btw. The AWD top spec and 2wd lower spec. I hope this somewhat reply your question. 😁

@@afiqbazlibusairi Thanks for the great reply. Good info 👍 When you said that it's not really fast, what is the comfortable cruising speed of the 2012 Sportage? What speed would be pushing the engine too hard? How does the FC look like? I'm reluctant to get an AWD because I don't need it (currently living in Penang) and because of its higher maintenance costs, but since 2WD is of a lower spec, I might still consider the AWD. I think I'll get a 2014 instead of 2012 due to the updated engine/interior. I've heard many rumors of the engine oil consumption and some chances of engine failure. Did you have any huge problems while owning the 2012? Or are these problems mainly happening in the west?

​@@journeraesriI've driven my 2015 Sportage SL AWD at 160 km/h, which is a comfortable (but not legal) cruising speed along less traveled, that is, not busy highways. I've learned to rely on the vehicle's momentum to gently speed up rather than pedal-to-the-metal brute force acceleration. It's my second car and is so seldomly driven that I've clocked less than 5,000 kms by 2023. The Kia service centers don't know how to service my car by mileage, so they went according to the number of years instead, lol. The 2.0L petrol AWD variant is heavy at over 1.5 metric tons and with four passengers and luggage, it struggles to cope on hilly stretches. The rear wheels only kick in at speeds of 40 km/h and below, so it's a FWD vehicle most of the time. This car really needs at least 300 Nm of torque but you can only have that with the 4th generation Sportage QL in the 2 liter turbo diesel form. I've test driven one and with 400 Nm and 180 bhp pulling it forward, acceleration is effortless and amazing. You will never get that sports car like performance with the 2.0L petrol variant. The Nu engine has the least amount of design problems and if you went for the 2012 model it would have the 2.0L Theta II engine, which had been subjected to recalls in North America. The 2014 model would be a better deal, in my opinion. It's too bad that Naza sold the variant with the sunroof, full leather seats and the dual cluster instruments only in the AWD guise.

@@journeraesri Good luck with your search for a gently used 2015 KIA Sportage! 🙂 It's the final year which the third generation model was produced as the 4th generation QL line was announced in 2016, but comes without the panoramic sunroof or AWD. KIA made many versions of the third generation Sportage, depending on the country where it's sold. Most come with the panoramic glass roof. It also came with a 1.6 liter petrol and turbo diesel engine with manual transmission. The most potent engine is the 2 liter turbocharged petrol (Sportage R), while the 2.4 liter petrol Theta II power plant was a standard feature in North America. If you choose the 2015 AWD model, you'll get the panoramic sunroof, LED rear lights, leather seats, dual cluster dashboard meters and 18" alloy wheels. Unfortunately the AWD variant for Malaysia doesn't come with HID headlights, front parking sensors or the 8" LCD infotainment system (which you can upgrade all of these later). The first thing I did when I got my car was to retrofit it with a Philips HID (Xenon) bulb kit as it didn't affect the warranty. The HID makes a lot of difference at night compared to the standard 55W halogen bulbs. Good luck! 🙂

I agree with u on the logo this looks much better but I drove the 2.4 L variant of this sportage and I didnt like it at all ...the sitting position is too high and cannot find proper position, seat isn't comfortable, the steering has no feeling and the overall driving experience feels so plasticy like a driving a toy electric car😅

How can the sitting position be too high when it has power seats that lift and lower to any position you like?

Yes a huge upgrade dari Rondo. Kereta Speoatge full 6 airbag. Ada awd, sunroof and power driver seat. Btw tq for watching my video.
