Absolutely. When using the Owl through Zoom, you can set the audio preferences for the meeting. That means you can use the mic on the Owl or any other mic source in addition to the Owl camera. Hope this helps!

Good evening, I am an elementary art teacher who will be traveling into each classroom with a cart full of materials. 7 classes a day with only 45min to teach each session. I will be hybrid. Some students in class, some at home. How do I effectively use the teachers OWL cam? How can I use my own if they've purchased one for me? I was thinking of pre-recording my lessons and playing them during class time and then having the owl be pointed towards the white screen. I'm at a loss here......

The best thing your school can do is make sure there's an Owl camera set in each of the rooms you'll be teaching in (if possible, obviously). This will allow you to plug your computer in and host a Zoom call using the Owl as your primary camera. The remote students will see what the camera sees, and hopefully feel like a part of the class. Your in-person students will see class as normal. The remote students will be able to talk to your through the Owl microphone and speaker. It's like they're in class with you the whole time. It's not idea, obviously, but it's a good workaround.

@@PaleRobbie13 Won't the app the regular teacher has downloaded work on their pone only? How do I control the Owl myself? Also do a lot of demos up close, how do I manage the camera for that? Thank you so much!

It's not as bad as it sounds. The Owl app on your phone controls the camera. You plug the Owl into a computer and use Zoom on the computer. That's how the remote students will be able to watch class. You can adjust where the Owl is pointing manually using the app. That will allow you to get a close-up shot of a demonstration, for example.

@@chrissordini2211 The app lets you control the Owl for just that session. Anyone with the app can login to any Owl on the network, so it isn't assigned to a single teacher, if that makes sense.

Yes, it is. I believe the price was $1,000 a piece when we got them last year.
