Yep! Like most people, I discovered him when Fireflies was extremely popular. I was 8 years old. 8! I'm now almost 22. I remember listening to his music on youtube on my sisters really old laptop with an internet dongle cause we didn't even have internet in our house back then. I still listen to him even after all this time. Been waiting 4 years for new music and he's finally back! Some of my other favourite artists have released 1 or 2 whole albums since Owl City's last one, it's crazy.

Fireflies was released Jan 1st 2009 along with that whole Ocean Eyes album...

For The Midsummer Station fans, this will be a banger. Although I miss some of those "All Things Bright and Beautiful", "Ocean Eyes", "Maybe I'm Dreaming" or "Of June" sounds that made Owl City unique. But this is an amazing song. Can't wait for the new album 😭

Honestly there is some, but when you hear a song from "Maybe I'm Dreaming" you hear stuff that kind of diluted throughout the years. Yes, there is some of that original sound but it's not very marked. Still an amazing song

Def gives me Mobile Orchestra vibes, but tbh Owl City has always been unique in its own way in every era, and Adam's side projects as well. Be it Maybe I'm Dreaming, ATBAB or Mobile Orchestra, the sound has always been there.

its true, but also owl city its not the same compared to 2008,thats pre fireflies days, Maybe I´m dreaming was the album released that year and sounds not much like this. Owl city had a very different charm back then.

Because this genre of music hasn’t change much since 2008. Not to say Owl City never changed. He always have. In this generation, we haven’t changed much since the 90s. Compared to generations that lived in the 20th century, each decade was drastically different. Look at fashion in 2011 compared to 2021. Everyone was still wearing skinny jeans and fades.

It kinda sounds like Thunderstruck in a way but more expressive, Owl City finally back with the 2010 sounding banger styled nostalgia music.

Your music speaks so very much to me and was a huge part of my teenage years and still even now at 27. Thanks for being such an amazingly bright light in my journey through life, through all the ups and downs, and in the music industry, where lyrics and meaning seems to be not as much of an importance, lacking depth and character, so they all tend to blend in with one another, even across different genres. Been playing this song since the fist time it released and playing the game too. Never thought that one day Owl City will make the soundtrack for one of the game that I played. Been knowing Owl City from Fireflies and Good Time, so I'm really surprised when suddenly Owl City's page announced the collaboration with Neural Cloud, especially after years of hiatus The lyrics were perfectly summarized the game's story and premise and as the player I always wanted to sheds a tears when hearing this (and I already did 🥲), when knowing that we're (the player) is actually on a dangerous mission to uncover the truth and to save those lost dolls from the cloud even it's a dangerous path and there's a big chance that we couldn't make it back to the real world 🥲🥲🥲. The lyrics and music feels encouraging and comforting, even if you don't know the game you could still enjoy the music and find it encouraging 🤗 Overall I'm really happy with this collaboration!!
