She’s crazy, but in a way fought for freedom. She’s now the Junker Queen, but doesn’t act like a Queen but more like an honest (yet wild) leader.

Roadhog and Junker Queen are the most "I wanted to be a dps but I was too big" Characters ever

Well, Junker Queen is pretty ruthless herself which is necessary since you can't rule Junker Town by being "nice". I love her character. She, along with the people of Junker Town also have an extreme hatred of Omnics (Robots) and none are allowed in Junker Town. Many of the people in Junker Town are Veterans who fought in the war against the Omnics (including Mason, the former "Junker King"). Junker Town is perhaps my favorite place in the Overwatch universe. Australia has pretty much become the "Mad Max" universe. Here is a quote from the Junker Queen which will tell you a lot of her rule: "Listen up you wretched scum. I see your struggles. Trying to survive in the wasteland. It's time to face the facts. The end of the world's come and gone. Your past lives are a dream. It's time you woke up. They thought they could take our land and give it to the machines? They were wrong. We won the war. And now we reap the spoils. We built a new world from the ashes. So step into the Scrapyard. No rules. No mercy. Only the strong survive. This is your queen. Welcome to the apocalypse. I am glad however, that the Wasteland and Junkertown is actually only a specific area in Australia, Namely the central area's around what i believe to be Alice Springs and Ularu. I also have a head canon that Alice Springs is in fact Junkertown, because it makes sense to put an omnium nearby a town, allowing shipping. Again tho. i love that my hometown area's on the coast are still green and unchanged basically.

The Overwatch cinematic shorts team never disappoints. They packed so much clever and inventive action and fight choreography at the same time as still injecting expertly delivered story and character development. Odessa's mercy toward Geiger and Meri was so poignant after she took the hit near the end, and it just shows the two of them looking at her with worry and astonishment--that was the moment they knew she was worth helping, and that's why Meri betrayed King Howl. I also loved the final scene with Howl being thrown out. You see the genuine terror and devastation on his face as he watches the city gates shut before him. It also gives you this sense of "he might return" kind of story energy. It goes really fast, but in one of the still frames at the end, you can see Odessa interacting and encouraging the kids, showing again that under the tough as nails badass exterior is a person full of compassion, wanting to give the children something she never had: a fair start at life. I think I speak for the Overwatch community at large when I say I'm beyond hyped for this character.

The Soujourn story trailer is a bit of a in-universe cinematic correlating Soujourn having to leave Overwatch with players "leaving behind Overwatch 1" at the same time type of cinematic. Made likely for the people who hung on after being left high and dry and it's warranted given Blizzard's downright shameful treatment of their fans. They pretty much abandoned the game for two and a half years. Thankfully someone over there had the good sense to make OW2 F2P because I would never spend a dime to get served a glorified sequel with a campaign tacked on after that whole fiasco knowing they can just drop support at any time because they aren't seeing enough ROI or w/e.

the fact the overwatch 2 trailer starts off with the boy's voice from their first cinematic is still magical to me.

I read a lot about her and what blizzard put out. She is a very aggressive tank. Most of her skills involved putting dots/damage over time on ppl and also to stop them from healing for a little bit and her shout gives all her team an extra 100 health and she gets 200

Yeah, Junker Queen will be in Beta 2, and a support hero will be in Beta 3. Sojourn, JQ, and the new support will all be available when the full game launches in October. Then after that, a new hero will be set to come out every 18 weeks or so. What we know about the post launch heroes is the first will be another Tank. I hope it's Mauga, one of Baptiste's old teammates from Talon.

There's also a gameplay trailer for Junker Queen that's probably my favourite out of them all.

The Junker Queen Real name: Odessa "Dez" Stone Role: Tank Primary Fire: Scattergun. A pump-action shotgun meant for close-mid range combat Secondary Fire: Jagged blade. Active effect: Throws a knife towards the enemy, can be recalled back to Junker Queen. Enemies hit by the knife or in its way when it's recalled gets pulled towards Junker Queen. Passive effect: If you hit an enemy with your melee while holding the knife, does more damage and inflicts the new "wound" status effect on them (Wound deals damage over time) Ability 1: Commanding Shout. When activated, Junker Queen and all allies nearby gain a speed boost and temporary HP (Junker Queen 200, Allies 100) Ability 2: Carnage. Swings her axe in front of her, dealing damage and inflicting Wound to all enemies hit. Ultimate: Rampage. Charges forward, any enemies hit take damage, inflicted with Wound, and gain the Anti-Heal debuff. Passive: Adrenaline Rush. Junker Queen heals from all damage enemies take from Wounds. Sojourn Real name: Vivian Chase Role: Damage Primary fire: Railgun. Rapid fires small projectiles, all damage done to enemies increases railgun charge Secondary fire: Charge Shot. Requires at least 1% charge to fire. Fires a hitscan shot and becomes more powerful the more charge you have when firing. Consumes all charge when used. Ability 1: Power Slide. Perform a slide in the direction you were moving, press jump during the slide to perform a super jump. Ability 2: Disruptor Shot. 11:22 I don’t know if y’all caught it, but the former Junker King didn’t give water to Junker Queen or her family when he banished them.

now that is a character. not too powerfull to just outright become a queen because "yeah" but to gain trust and respect of others in order to get the win. not just something on the line of "i'm mary sue so get wrecked" but more of a real approach. honestly a very refreshing take for a female characters in general. strong but also written properly edit: not sure about Sojourn, but we'll see maybe there is more to her story

Did you notice that she actually turned her axe the other way at the last minute, its because JunkerQueen doesn't really have an intention to kill anyone in the fight. Ruthless, but she has a heart and is a better ruler than the merciless king before her

Quite funny that Junkrat is the first to hail her as the Junker Queen, when we know he will later on manage to piss her off enough to get thrown out together with Road Hog in Overwatch: the Plan. At the same time, it also feels entirely in character for him. :D

Well... that may not be nailpaint... more than likely that is due to radiation poisoning due to Australia having been turned into a Mad-Max-style radioactive wasteland after the destruction of an omnic factory.

Sojourn is a cyborg, much like Sombra, Genji, Symmetra, Ana (formerly) and Torbjörn - they all have limbs wholly or partially replaced with tech integrated into their nervous system. Genji, because of his extensive injuries, is probably the one who has had the most replacements and enhancements. Ana probably had the least. She had a cybernetic eye until Widowmaker shot her. Also, I quite like the Junker Queen's physique. If Zarya is the weight lifter, Odessa seems like the Heptathlon athlete.

I'm happy with the new direction that the game is going. It's been my go to for 5-6 years now. With all the trouble at Blizzard I was scared the game would be put aside, but they seem to be attempting to turn it into the game that saves the company again. Which is kinda fitting given the hero theme. 😁 The Junker Queen cinematic was really sick action wise, but I kinda wished they went more into her lore and time growing up in the wastelands. Also what I love about Sojourn is that for a special forces member she seems reaaally kind and caring. Her priority doesn't seem the mission itself, but getting her team home safe. Even if it's from a chair. I can't wait to explore her character in the PvE next year.

NGL Sojourn feels so bland in comparison to the Junker Queen. She's almost like some typical augmented military hero, and doesn't really show any kind of emotion so far. Also the 4th wall breaking for Junker Queen really worked well to give her a lot of volume imo.

Nah, the game could be good, but because of what Blizzard became I don't accept any of their games anymore, after having played their games so much. A good example is Diablo Immortals, but really, it should be called Diablo Scammortals.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames yes, but it will take years for positive changes to actually happen, as well as for the industry to wake up and stop trying to make everything a microtransaction hell. Indie devs will take every major company's place at this rate, because people had enough of this sickening greed.

I so love reactions to good blizzard content but damn are they a hard company to like..

tbh overwatch 2 is gonna be terrible, they scrapped everything we knew and loved, and remake whole game, heroes have diffrent skills, gameplay is now 5 vs 5 instead of 6 vs 6 and time to kill is too fast, also everything is too dynamic, there is almost no shields, in ov 1 players was usyng shields to hide and live longer then 10 seconds and now in ov 2 gameplay looks like this: team 1 kills all team 2 in 10 seconds, team 2 kills team 1 in ten seconds and so on, i would not be salty if they left ov 1 as it is and just add ov 2 but they are deleting ov 1, thats why i am so pissed

Ah, that’s a bummer that they are deleting Overwatch 1. They should just make 2 better so people want to play it instead of deleting 1 😕

Sojourn looks like they out of ideas and just copied Adam Jensen wave gun and cyberpunk cyberware...

to me these were the worst origin stories and cinematic of all overwatch ones.... why? cinematic: breaking the screen barrier when 'hero/protagonist' talks to me completley break immersion of this universum, it breaks formula of all other cinematics and is total miss ye i get what they were aiming for..... but this formula doesnt work at all i hate the fact that they (again latley) break formula of "do not tell - show" ... its like she is telling me what i have to feel and how i should recieve her story... she repeats '13 years ago' so many times i get pushed off by it and cringe a little also this guy in yellow bot... ye i get that he got shot in his back, but i guess he expected that from junker king... he knew hes an asshole, he knew 'rules' of this fight....... so the moment when he decides to 'betray king' and releases his hook look (also his expression) really wierd, out of place and unexpected simply this cinematic was badly written other than that everything looks great, some shots were really good, it looked really good, really good lightning, camera work, etc. - the production value is there like always in bzzard cinematics, but in my opiniopn concept and writing does not drive forward this cinematic ...... origin stories: junker queen - horrible, i hate it, this music is unbearable to me........ again, i get what they were aiming for, i get the vibe they were trying to generate... but imo it didnt work at all, its like "psst kids we can in to punk too" sojourn - nothing special really ... shes just super perfect in everything... she leads, she commands, she this, she that... absolutley 0 character development, this origin didnt bring anything interesting to the table

These cinematics and new content are my go-go juice 🧃 Love em so much! Thanks for this one!
