Keg couplers are one of the most important components of a kegerator, acting as a key to unlock and dispense the beer. They attach to the valve and CO2 line to release compressed air into the keg, forcing out your favorite brew within seconds.
Depending on your keg and style of beer, you may need a different type of coupler to properly dispense it. There are six different types of keg couplers-each with specifications to accommodate different kinds of beer.
A “D” system coupler is the most popular type and fits all domestic brand kegs. It’s designed to fit U.S. Sankey keg valves which is 95 percent of American beers. “D” System couplers are used by many major breweries such as Coors, Miller, Budlight and other American craft beer.
An “S” system coupler works with most European keg valves and is compatible with beers such as Heineken, Amstel, Stella and much more.
“U” system couplers are designed to fit specific European keg valves. They’re used by many well-known stout and ale brand kegs like Guinness, Harp and Kilkenny.
If you’re a fan of Warsteiner, Paulaner or Spaten, then an “A” system coupler is just for you. These couplers are compatible with most German keg valves.
“G” system keg couplers are designed to fit other specialty European keg valves. These type of valves are perfect for kegs such as Boddingtons and Bass.
There are also specialty couplers used for homebrew setups like ball lock couplers (43-0153-00), or for tight fitting applications where height is an issue we offer low profile couplers (40030).

Does it makes difference if I use my home beer on a D , coupler and keg system , or I use my home beer on a A coupler and keg system?

Sigh..... "They attach to the valve and CO2 line to release compressed air into the keg..." It is NOT compressed air!
