    I believe the extractor is left uncoated and is still constructed of 158+ like the carrier. I am gonna contact Geissele though and verify. I’ll get back with you.

    Geissele Customer Service said this: “They are made from a medical grade stainless steel. Uncoated. They are extremely durable. I've seen some looking shockingly good after pretty nasty kabooms from some unfortunate 300 blk oopsies we helped out with.”

    @Makin Shooties the lobster extractors don't increase reliability what it does is lengthen the weaker proprietary springs wear time. The actual extraction force is similar if not the same, but two lesser springs will wear out less quickly than one stronger spring. School of American rifle has gone in depth on that. I would rather stick with this mil-spec+ extractor and colt gold spring (which it comes with), or upgrade to springco spring

    As a lefty I’m looking for things to help keep gas out of my face like the LMT BCG which has a slight delay letting more gas out at the end of the barrel I wonder if Geissele does something close like that if not it is still one hell of a BCG!🤯🔫👍🏼

  • @GunBoxTherapy

    I have never heard about that with the Geissele BCG or even the LMT ones. However, I would recommend the Airborne or Super charging handles for good gas mitigation in that area of the gun. I know that being left handed your main source of gas to the face comes from the ejection port though. Have you ever checked out Stag Arms left handed uppers and their left handed BCG?

    I’m a lefty as well and I have been a bit of a bcg snob. I have the Surefire OBCG which definitely makes a difference in recoil impulse and delayed unlocking. But I also love My enhance LMT bcg. Another good option is actually coming from Paul Lietner-wise but NOT his old company LWRCi. He has a new bcg that actually delays unlocking and is a fantastically high end bcg that is incredible. The bolt is SUPER nice I genuinely suggest them. And their cam pins are awesome as well. Lastly I just finished building 2 left handed uppers using stag bcg’s one is nitrided the other is phosphate coated. And WOW!! What an amazing difference. Of all these fancy bcgs I own it’s amazing how much having the ejection port on the correct side changes the game! With my suppressors on especially its a night and day difference. My current favorite is the stag upper with the new rosco/SAGE 12.5” k9 barrel. It’s an absolute pleasure to shoot with a can.

    Bud the charging handles are just a half assed fix to blow back by people who dont want to properly fix the problem because you are still putting a lot of gas backbthe tube causing things to get very dirty in the upper and around the bcg. Best thing to do is buy yourself a quality adjustable gas block like the Suplurtive arms bleed off style, or a Seekins(seekins makes good everything) that way you can close some of that gas off that is coming back as it is also speeding up the bcg more than necessary. I do like the Suplurtive Arms because what is left up there that cant come back the tube from the close of screw in the block bleeds out of the front of the block. That is the proper way to fix your blow back. Then run any charging handle you prefer weather intendid for gas blow back, or not

  • @GunBoxTherapy

    @GunBoxTherapy

    2 жыл бұрын

    Not sure why your comment was “held for review”. I always forget to check that on my channel. But yes I have actually! (Only because I have an astigmatism myself). My personal favorite is the EOTech holographic sights. There is also the Vortex holographic sight as well. But the EOTech in my opinion is the better of the two. Just know that it must be used in the same manner that all red dots are used and that is, you have to focus on the intended target and not the reticle. It will look just fuzzy. Kinda like if you take a laser pointer and point it at the wall/ground how it somewhat looks pixelated in a way. So long as you focus on the target it will be crisp. There is one other option and that is prism optics. They are essentially showing you a reflection of the reticle and most of them are etched. Meaning the reticle is etched into the glass so the reticle is visible whether the red dot is on or not. The downside to prism optics is viewing angle, eye relief, weight and size. They typically have very finicky viewing angles and an eye relief that is fairly close to the viewing lens. Due to the weight of glass and the amount of glass needed to make a prism optic as well the need to create a reflection within the body, the size and weight of these will typically be bulky and heavier than your average red dot. EOTechs are expensive but they are worth every penny. Come with a 10 year warranty and have a proven track record on the battle field.

    @DD-ud3mw he is a bit over the top. Really way over the top if you consider the platform of the rifle. Bottom line is you get what you pay for. If you spend the money on a quality brand like this guy did with this specific brand your chances of having a bcg made out of the specification tolerances required for proper function is greater than buying some $80 bcg. If it slides in the upper as expected, the bolt can hold its own weight without collapsing in, and the rifle cycles fine then there is absolutely no reason for guaging to the point that guy does. I build custom AR15s for people as well as 1000yd benchrest rifles for light gun and unlimited gun class and there is the percision like that is required in 1000yd benchrest rifles as the tolerance window is much smaller than the AR15. Which AR15 platform is not capable of the same amount of accuracy as the custom benchrifles built with actions like Kelbly (which i use and recommend to customers) no matter how perfect that AR15 is.

    Yeah, I don’t think it matters as much as it is harped on but I do understand the benefits of the concept. Either a mono-headed cam pin or one you can place back the same way every time, but I wouldn’t say it’s gonna save your life or cause the rifle to malfunction if you don’t.

  • @MrTylero28

    @MrTylero28

    It’s just for re indexing in the same direction it came out. For the purposes of “potential” if you put a cam Pin back in the same direction every time it will show wear in a pretty convincing way that would indicate the movement is almost “lapping” itself into shape. One option that I would suggest you check out those. Is look at the cam pin or even some uppers and you’ll see the. Wear mark through the anodizing where that cam pin has hit the edge so Much that it wore through the finish. I drank the new cam pins from Leitner-Wise’s new company where it has a slightly offset side and an arrow pointing forward to indicate direction but it also prevents and STOPS that wearing out in the cam path. Which may or may not be a long term problem. But hey less wear in my opinion is a big plus. But I also shoot several thousand rounds per year. I never realized that most gun owners seldom shoot more than a few hundred rounds a year. If that even.

    Idk about you guys but I literally can't put the cam pin in the wrong way because the carrier won't take it the wrong way and it's like this on all 14 BCGs from various manufacturers so I think this is hardcore fud

    I have about 12k on a Toolcraft BCG that is still going strong...bought it for 69.99 from PSA. I appreciate the workmanship G does, but it is overkill period! I rather have two Toolcrafts (one as backup) for 160 out the door than one that costs 100 bucks more and still has a chance to break. Nothing is guaranteed in life, it's better to have a backup BCG IMO.
