For those of us who DO know where it is, I highly recommend taking 3 flashlights with you, one of those being a hand-crank survival flashlight. My last venture down there, I ran out of batteries, and I just BARELY seen sunlight before it died on me, leaving me damn near stranded. SO BE CAREFUL EXPLORERS. Like they said, you can DIE in there.

Good reminder, OP. Redundancy of gear in spelunking is very important. Need to have backups to your backups and maybe even backs ups for those. Same goes for mountaineering too

thats what gets people killed in caving, lack of experience and knowledge means that literally 1 mistake means at minimum being stuck in the same place for at least a few days with whatever is broke. what they did was just a stupid risk of life and they literally pressured their friend to go through the passage with no reassurance at all like his life didnt matter at all.

There were people in there when the 10/17/1989 earthquake hit. Imagine a 2 hour climb to the surface not knowing if it was clear around the next corner.

Guys this was one of the best videos I've seen in a long time!!! Elton was hilarious and made the scary tight parts of the cave bearable.

Back in the 1980's my friends and I have been in Hell Hole at least 40 times. So this brings back some memories. I have to commend you guys for at least making it past the corkscrew. Whish you had gone down the actual hell hole to the lower third cavern or the hall of faces which is the main area most went. The hall of faces is where college art students would sculpture faces on the walls made from the clay and they were mind blowing realistic. it amazes me how brave i was when i was younger as i would be too scared to go in there now...

You guys really made me laugh and enjoyed the video very much. if you do make it back and go to the hall of faces that would be a good place to stop. i do not suggest going down the pit or past to the sideway hallway as the fat boy needs that diet. And i only went there 2 times and hated how hard it was to get through the 15 or 20 feet of distance. And slightly painful on the hips as you have to go sideways as the name says. What i want to know is if the students these days do sculptures as that was the best thing about the cave along with signing the book.

I went all the way down to the Hall of Faces in 1993. We were underground for about 7 hours. Was nuts. I also worked at the 7-11 near downtown and we could tell when people came in after being in the Hell Hole because they were covered in mud in a way you only get in that place. Oh my the early 90's were amazing in that town.

Honestly, no matter how scared you were/are, you can not deny that this group would be the best people to do this with.

If you ever need to know what direction you're facing (like up, down, sideways etc) just tilt you head, to where you think is up, then try to shoot spit out of your mouth and where ever it goes will tell you what direction you're facing. Lets say you where upside down and you tilt your head up an spit and it goes up then comes down that means you're upside down.

@@boi6477 john jones him and 10 other people went into a cave to explore the parts that they were exploring were ‘boring’ so him, his brother and i think 2 of his friends went to a more exciting part of the cave John ended finding a place in the cave that was really small he was like 6ft tall he climbed in and after a while he realized he couldn’t turn around to get out and kept going deeper until he became stuck and somehow ended upside down; long story short his brother and his friend found him after he was calling for help, his brother told the friend to look after him while he called the police for help it took the police and firefighters 7 hours to start arriving to try to help him our bodies were made to yk flow with gravity not against it after about 23 hours of trying to get him out they realized they couldn’t get him out without breaking his legs his breathing and stuff started getting slower they just weren’t able to save him his body is actually still in the cave but the cave is sealed off

This reminds me of AS ABOVE SO BELOW. 😂 I still remember those day days Of me & my friends, Caving in our province and stuck for about 5 hours, Just because we loose our signs. But we also get out alive and complete, That day still sinking in my mind! Doing caving things is not that easy. There’s fun but there’s always an unexpected things to happened.

This Cave deserves a Survival Horror Game based on it!
