Overnight Hammock Wild Camp. Canoe Camping with my Dog. Bangers and Mash.
In this video, after weeks of lockdown, I head off for a much needed overnight camp. On the windiest day we have had for months, I head off in the canoe with Maggie and find a quiet spot beside the river to set up camp. After setting up my hammock and tarp, I gather firewood and set about making a delicious dinner of Bangers and Mash, washed down with a nice dry cider. A comfortable but windy night is followed by a tasty breakfast before packing up and paddling back home (against a very strong headwind!)
I hope you enjoy the video.
Thanks for watching!

Absolutely Adotre Maggie. I am so sorry to here the news. ❤

Love the way you take such good care of dear old Maggie. From one dog lover to another, cheers!
Great video Simon. What a beautiful dog Maggie is ! And such chill company. I grew up with Newfs and will always have a soft spot in my heart for them.
Paddle faster, I hear banjo music 😉 Lovely camp with dear Maggie. She was an awesome companion.
Another great video Simon, thanks for sharing! All the best Joe
Why do I sit at home and watch you do what I could be doing. I could even just throw camping gear in the car and drive to remote campsites if I didn’t want to bother with a boat or a hike. We have lovely remote campsites here in the eastern most reaches of Maine, US. But I sit and watch videos; What’s up with that? Well, thanks for posting for through these vids I can camp out vicariously.

Gary, I used to camp out & travel on a Motorcycle in the '80s but I don't feel safe anymore even with my partner. We'd go up to Canada all the time, did a Mass. to Key West trip many times but in those days you felt safe.In the 2006-2010 era we did a lot of camping at Acadia because we had a small property in Harrington which we sold because the 5 hour trip was too much for my spine.I remember when things were so much more pleasant, people had manners & you felt safe. Now, we are hoping to get a caravan & build a tiny home in a remote area, we are now frightened about so much due to the virus, civil unrest & a lack of funding to the NPCA.I wish I could go back in time!

Awesome Video Simon Maggie is absolutely Gorgeous ❤ The reusable tea bag is a great idea. Regarding lockdowns, we have been quite lucky where we are In Australia, as it is a rural area, life almost went on as normal, barring social distancing and ensuring sanitiser is used etc, they couldn't restrict travel from one town to another, as there are rural areas where shopping centres and places for supplies can be 100km+ away in each direction. Unfortunately the panic buying hit us hard, even out as far as we are. It was nearly two months before toilet paper arrived on the shelves again out here. Those of us who always keep a months supply of toilet rolls due to being in cyclone and flood prone areas were fine. Our hearts go out to those who have been affected by the virus and those who are still in lockdown. Victoria here in Australia has been git quite hard by the second spike. If that was us with our labbies when they were still with us, they would have been snoring in the hammock and we would have been sleeping on the ground LOL.
Brilliant to see you back out Simon, welcome back mate. That canoe is stunning isn’t it, just perfect in black. Great food on this one, I was eating my tea and still felt I needed to eat your as well 😆. The mash looked bang on and butchers Cumberland too 😋. I was gonna say how well behaved Mag’s is then you went on to say how she wanders sometimes I was like yeah that would be my Sam too 😂. Thanks bud and great once again to see you camp and also canoe 👍, Ant. Edit: Oh forgot to mention, with listening to your taste in music on your videos I was wondering if you’ve heard of Bluegrass, it maybe right up your street. I love it and it fit very well with woodland camp videos.

You could even do Farsi, if you wanted to. Or Thai. That is something I bet you could not have imagined 10 years ago that would have been possible with a computer. Stellen Sie sich vor, was die Zukunft anzubeten haben könnte. Mind reading. Great to see you back out Simon, and Maggie of course! That was a windy camp out, don't think I would have slept at all. I've been looking at Silverbirch canoes too, is yours the Duralite version? The other thing I'd like to ask is where you got your Screw top barrel from, that look a great bit of kit! is it 30L? I've seen the blue ones with clip lids but can't find one like yours? Take care. You're good people Simon. Thanks for the fine break from the race.
When my 2nd Newfoundland dog reached 8 or so, I expected him to stick around for a couple of years or so, but being a bit of a runt & the right size for a bitch, he lived to be almost 15 years old. Maggs could be him as, they are so alike, so fingers crossed & here's hoping.
