Hey, thank you for allowing us to see your awesome Cave! It is always interesting to see new locations that are not typical "survival" & learn how different people lived & live. And the sheer amount of history in that place is pretty impressive as well.

Howdy Simon! I just want to say, I've been watching for a few years now and your videos are always so very wonderful. I have fairly bad anxiety and troubles with insomnia, however, when I watch your wonderful adventures, be it with Andy, Maggie, Tom or just yourself, I'm put at ease. You've really helped me get more into my own bushcraft and just be more at peace in hustle and bustle of everyday life. I'm able to nod off and sleep well when your travels are playing in the background. Thank you for sharing your passion with us all. It really does mean the world. All the best!

Gold medal video, outstanding location, best one yet. The cave is a monument to history and the lives that agricultural workers were leading pre WW1England, much of which is documented in Ronald Blythe's award winning book 'Akenfield'. In it there is a recipe for estate made beer, during harvest time each worker had a free issue of 17 pints, yes seventeen pints per day as documented on page 62.

How interesting, I’ve watched Andy for quite some time, Simon, I’m new to your channel, so glad you are friends…👍🏻it a treat to watch you camping together, love the cave and the history lesson.

I love the history of places and their people. I could almost feel what the old-time inhabitants felt as they woke in the morning to the sights and sounds that you were able to record. Great adventure!

Simon a bloke in a cave with Kent scarevival 😎 never heard of masonry bees, cool. The good old days of the highway men! Great historic place. Some of the wood maybe looked coppiced. That tree was massive that had come down, maybe a fir, huge!

It was a fantastic place! Yes, the cave is on a large private estate, so much of the woodland is coppiced and filled with unusual and non native species - it was once quite an ornate place!

Awesome area to camp in. It's like being in a time capsule. You have so much more history over there than we do in the states. We have a habit of destroying things over here. Loved the video !!

That was great 👍🏻 Andy nailed it on the breakfast 👌

I love these videos! They remind me of the Hobbit. All you seem to do is make big dinners, drink large beers, then consume huge breakfasts and coffee. You could break into song to complete the image.

Two of my favorite bushcrafters,I thoroughly enjoyed this video,hopefully you’ll both team up again,nice moves Andy ,you rug cutter you! Lol

Biscuits and gravy is a Southern delicacy, and my favorite breakfast item. Most southerners make it a little more thin by using more milk, but it did look good.

The Question arises, did it have a proper "bite" of black pepper . Personally I like using half a can of condenced mushroom soup with a splash of milk. But need a good Tablespoon of black pepper.

Wow Andy and Simon, that has to be the most unique place you two have ended up at to date :-) Loved the scene set when candles and lanterns lit, looked very warm and cosy with the fire roaring and you two tucking into the Chicken, fabulous stuff. Back in the day my late mother used a Prestiege pressure cooker every evening for cooking the potatoes. When done she would cool it under running water in the sink and very little steam would come out when she removed the weight/valve. However her best friend would not cool the cooker and just put it outside the back door and remove the weight, with an impressive blow off steam. Back then every so often she had to replace the gasket ring on the lid which was stocked by a local shop. My Mother used it alot as it saved alot of gas / cooking times when people were not as well off.

Oh boy, two of my favorite guys. Simon with the huge, slightly naughty, grin and Andy with the bedroom eyes. Thank you both for your efforts to get us these video adventures. You make it look so easy, but I bet you work hard on these videos. They are so enjoyable, informative, creative, and therapeutic. Simon, I particularly love your projects. I've tried to duplicate the easier ones with moderate success. Just taking on a project and the journey to completion is a joy in itself.
