It’s problem largely was the fact that it’s not like today’s prisons where people are separated you could’ve been put in with people who had multiple homicides for non violent crimes like stealing or drugs I don’t think everyone in the prison was exactly bad or evil it’s just you got to adapt to your situation fear is a big part of respect in prison so people who may have just made a small mistake had to be the most violent to prove themselves all and all the prison was just to over populated and corrupt on top of them not separating violent and non violent offenders we still have some very violent prisons here in West Virginia places where inmates and even guards are attacked daily but moundsville is a cool place you can google search the mound and it’s literally like a hill in the middle of town that is actually and Indian burial ground that has bodies in it to this day it’s a pretty cool place to visit

That place is so dope. My mom went there once when she was younger and some guy went down into the boiler room and started mocking a ghost that was down there then started screaming in agonizing pain and when he came upstairs he had scratch marks all over his back

I live about 45 minutes from the penitentiary and spent 12 hours over night there a few years ago. That place is crazy. The sugar shack was the most active room with all the paintings. We go big in West Virginia even with our jails!

I’m super late to this video but I live 5 minutes away from Moundsville and have lived here my entire life. My great grandma who is no longer with us had worked at the penn and when the riots happened, she was the only one that the prisoners had let out. She was a nurse and so all of the prisoners liked her because she cared for them all regardless of who they were. This is so crazy to see you guys exploring here!

I went on a tour there not to long after they closed in the 90s & it was super creepy& that was during the day. 😂 My Dad was an inmate there in the 70s & said he definitely had haunted experiences during his time there.

Corey is scared because he has his own very negative experiences with spirits and knows more than the rest of them what they’re capable of. He has also been dealing with them since he was just a child, Elton is a skeptic, Corbin is purely intrigued, and brandon is still very new to all of this.

this place is crazy creepy, always feels like somebody so watching you when you’re walking through. it’s weird

You know, sometimes I just feel bad for the guide... their trying to actually divulge information and Elton and the gang are just screwing around and making jokes...

Better them have fun then be scared and the guide has to pull them along. Also she made jokes too...

She was making jokes with them if she really had a problem with it I'm sure she would of told them to stop. They were just having fun and being their normal goofy self and nothing is wrong with that

I really like the tour videos, just learning about the history of these places is great and brilliant content by itself.
