Overlooked Native Shrubs for South Florida Landscapes

Add diversity to your south Florida landscape with native shrubs that are attractive, wildlife-friendly and low maintenance. Dr. Doug Caldwell, Ph.D, UF⎮IFAS Extension Collier County, Commercial Landscape Horticulture Educator (Dr. Dougbug) and Chad Washburn, Deputy Director, Naples Botanical Garden, showcase seven lesser known, native shrub alternatives that could be used in hedges and screening. These plants are: horizontal cocoplum; Bahama wild coffee; golden creeper; fiddlewood; Spanish stopper; seven-year-apple and white indigoberry.
