I wouldn't go that far Andrew! Better than propping the phone on a V block though 🤣🤣 Cheers Neil

Looks like this is just the thing I need to keep the camera from always being in the way. And I have a 3d printer and a bunch of tube stock, so thanks for the great idea!👍

Hi Jim ! It works and not in the way. I was forever hitting the camera when it was on the bench. If you go for it, make the block so it pivots and not stuck at 90⁰. Bit more flexibility. Cheers Neil

I'm planning on something similar. Currently using my old sunshade base with a bit of square section in it and a 3D printed adapter for the horizontal rectangular section. It's heavy, always in the way, but fairly steady. I'm expecting cinema quality productions from you now, you're all set up now, no excuses! 😁

It works ok Olly and not effected by vibration when I'm working. Cinema quality? I cant string a sentence together properly, let alone a video 🤣🤣

Another cracking video from Manta man. I wonder if you could use a spring loaded jaw to grip the roof beam, then you could use a lever at the bottom of the tube to operate it, saving you from having to mess about with a clamp above your head mate??

I did try a spring clamp but it wasn't strong enough. The camera kept creeping down. Got that G clamp set now so it's only half a turn to reposition it and it stays put 😁😁

Great overhead mount Neil. I might have to copy your design. I have a magnetic mount now that sits on the tailstock, might be useful for you also. I do all of my filming on an android phone. Best wishes, Dean.

I tried a mag mount but as nothing is bolted down, I had bad vibrations. That's why I thought floor or roof. Need to catch up on your videos too. Been a bit rough lately and not watched anything. Cheers Neil

@@NellsMechanicalManCave never thought of that. As long as the viewer is resonating at the same frequency as the lathe, the picture would be clear!! Hope you're feeling better mate. Dean.
