Overflowing farm videos, bonus day in the life of a farmer
Bonus video as I had so much going on, tomorrow is very exciting and didn’t want to bore everyone with moving sheep 🤣🤣
in 2009 i had no experience of farming or the realities that came with it. That soon changed when I met my other half Roy, I had a job as a carer and in every spare moment threw myself into farming. I had only ever driven a Nissan Micra and had experience with horses, I learnt the hard way as nobody had the time to show me and soon after arriving I found myself mothering on calves to three quarter bred limmy cows. We spent every available moment on the farm between our day jobs. Fast forward to 2016 two children later we moved into our very own farm overlooking the northern Pennines, Laitha.
we are in a transitional period at present and will finally be milking cows and making the final switch later this year, after years of planning and implementing infrastructure we will be milking 120 Jersey cows on two Lely robots. This will be a huge change and a steep learning curve
I will be taking you all along for the ride so hit that subscribe button and see you every other day for farming vlogs.
I am overjoyed to be a farmer. I feel so fortunate every day to wake up and do what I love and even better share it with the world and hope it inspires more young people from Preston to spread their wings and think outside the box the world doesn’t need more childcare workers or hairdressers it needs more farmers.

Sheep sheep sheep and more sheep and a few lambs 😂love it
I started my flock with "pet" lambs.... 3 the first year (Daisy, Dolly and Beau), then 2 more (Blacky and Stumpy), then 4 more etc. Definitely not a commercial enterprise but still a totally mixed bag of breeds and my best friends in the whole wide world!
If lamb goes to market for 150 quid, then 10 pets rather than deads sounds like an extra £1500 on the turnover at the end of the year .
First time I’ve heard anyone give a reason for lamb prices going sky high at the moment, Building looks fantastic, keep on farming,
❤I love ❤️ u too much lovely 😍
can't say no to a bit of extra!!!! is your farm is your farm..........nice views up your place, how high above sea level is your farm
It’s great that you can keep your own animals for your own consumption Charlotte. The shed looks great from the fields. It’s bloody massive 😂
Hey piggy piggy, get in my belly 😂😂, the shed is looking amazing Charlotte, they look a excellent team of Tradesmen you’ve got , keep the brews coming 🍻👍🏼💛

We are so fortunate x
Every time you say morning children, I laugh, smile and wave at the screen...oh I know Charlotte im cracked😂.. The lambs are doing great and the view of the new shed is fabulous. Your hard work and hard earned money looks first class. Next is the cows to arrive, can't wait.
Hi Charlotte from Michigan US. I love your videos. They ring true. Real life stuff, mix of the farm animals and that they entail. Haha😂 The muck, the splatter in the mouth, and occasional sheer on the face. I really enjoy the sheep too. I watch Tara farms and Sandy Brock’s sheep also. Big fan of Tom Pemberton and he show his sheep sometimes. Speaking of educate me on something please. I noticed Tom fed his sheep a bunch of loaf bread. Is that a thing there or just a treat? I’ve not heard of it here in the States. We even avoid giving it to often to ducks. It mucks up water and not a lot of nutritional content. We prefer peas as a treat for ducks. Anyway back to sheep. If Dobby is a permanent ewe and it sounded like she was and a bit of a pet maybe give her a bit of bread for me. The one that ran up to you right in the camera lense, what was her name? Just thinking she might have a story there. More content, more viewer connection. Love what your doing, raising, and sharing. Love that beautiful new barn and you anticipation is infectious. Such a joy to watch. Keep up the very, very, very hard sometimes unappreciated tiring staggering work. Thank you so much. Julie from Wiley Coyote Farm.
The shed looks great , and the lambs are looking well . When will the cows start to arrive ?
Great news you got good prices for the sheep 👍 and Nell has come on leaps and bounds. Peggy looking like I wanna play with you guys 😂 and what did you do to poor dobby 😂😂😂 you could have sprayed her name a nice colour 😂 shed WOW love it ❤ great video Charlotte x
You should start a patreon or youtube subscription for your extras. Even if it's only a couple of quid a month.

Glad you enjoyed it and I know that’s sad isn’t it
Brilliant video, more chilled/less manic than normal, so more relaxing to watch ...... Like to see the pet lambs being fed ... not relaxing job for you but fun to watch ...
What a lovely surprise having an extra video. Saving 10 lambs that you can sell for £100 each will give you £1k so a wise decision

I’d say it will pay off in the end just a rather large investment to get there and time isn’t it :)
Extra is so extra! Thanks for it.

great stuff shed looks amazing
Hello there. If you had a lot of sheep then you can't have pet lamb's and you would have more native breed's for better lambing perpusis.
Great video Charlotte
Yes Charotte, Ramadam and lamb prices in the 1970 s a castle haulage firm had picked up a load of lambs from Kendal Auction mart to take to a street in Bradford and when he got there it was a street of houses and no slaughterhouse and a very nice Muslim man came to the Cattle wagon and said let the tailboard down and let them go in 5 minutes when a lot of men came out to catch them . The driver of the wagon did not mince his words at the scene and the Muslim man thanked him for a good job .The driver told this this story countless times .

We had a lamb like you described. Basically the back passage was deformed and lived for a period of time and died after a few days
Great update!
Nell is a credit to you good work.

All that lamb going to market's got me hankering after a lamb Bhuna.

Don’t! At one point one nearly went for breeding as we’d not cut them, was going to be hard to decide which would’ve been more use!!x

19th ❤ is the real first 🎉
Do your Lambs go for Halal slaughter ?? Or does that depend on who buys them ?

The ones sold to the collection centre will end up on the supermarket shelves, we send ours to what was Dungannon Meats, now know as Dunbia. The ones who go via auction will end up at Bradford I’d expect x
Tell us news not history. We used to sell to the Asians year's ago. And take older sheep in to Bingley no Saturdays for the curry house boy's.

And we will be selling to them in years to come, it isn’t news at all really but still people just seem to skirt around the fact and I don’t know why so normal when your from somewhere like Preston to talk about it
