@@AlmostFamous23 - you only have to forfeit what you identify with. Why identify with anything in the first place? Why be a christian or a muslim, or anything else? Can you not take the wisdom of love and peace from anywhere without boxing yourself in? Weak minds need to identify themselves, more than they need truth, unfortunately.

I am amazed! Every Christian I have come across are quite fanatic!! To say the least! Anybody who doesn't accept Jesus Christ and the Christian god will go to hell. That's what they spread. Seeing you,, I gained back my hope in Christianity as a good religion. 🙏❤️

This is because the Dalai Lama is one of the world's leading researchers. His methods differ from the typical researcher and they're not yet measurable (leading the scientific community to doubt it), but that doesn't make his discoveries inaccurate, just unproven. Scientific discovery is inherently creative and The Dalai Lama has cultivated a deeply creative, observant mind.

I am hoping to become Doctor anytime soon.. I promise I will be very compassionate Doctor. Thank You his holiness.

Like many of you, I was initially shocked about the tongue incident of the dalai lama. I could not understand why the dalai lama, a man whose teachings have enriched my life immensely could do such a thing. Then I came across many KZread videos of my Tibetan brothers and sisters who explained how in their culture grandparents tease their grandchildren by asking them to eat their tongue, because they have given them everything they have (food, love etc). The video by Jigme called Dalai Lama is very useful for Western audiences as he explains Tibetan culture. Tibetan culture is mostly rural and developed in the high Himalayas and is shaped very differently from western cultures.

No, he stuck his tongue out to the kid. Even if it is a cultural thing, that is widely unacceptable by most people and needs to stop. The kid even appeared to be uncomfortable with that. Stop defending him.

@@pixelman1234 you need to stop imposing your western ideas on others. In India, elder generations pinch child’s face and play. Children do feel visibly uncomfortable, but doesn’t mean that the elders were abusive. It’s just an outdated custom. Younger generations don’t do this, but no one is going to call an elder abusive for such act. Same applies here

His Holiness nailed it...we want the quickest, easiest, most effective and cheapest way to happiness. To heal by words of Buddha's seem to fit all those categories. It just takes practice.

Tibetan Buddhism is one of my favorites. It is different a bit here and there from Diamond and Heart Sutras. I am a beginner. I am focusing on Happiness and Compassion. I also read Bible. I was taught for 10 years by a Jehovah's Witness Elder. He liked the way I read Bible Verses so twice a week he came to teach me for free! He was married to a woman who was a nurse during the Vietnam War. I am disabled. If I wasn't I would be a monk in Thailand!

Me too bro im a beginner. I listen to dzongsar kyenste on siddharthas intent n take notes etc because tantra is very new to me. I hv a 30 min daily meditation practise which takes my focus to inner world instead of outer. Im so grateful to utube for this opportunity. Ka kite m8 i enjoyed reading yr comment.

Hope one day humans will learn to respect each others and all the other sentient beings, plants included, ... that is everything which makes our little blue planet so unique in the Milkyway galaxy.

I have been listening to His Holiness since I was kid now I’m 40 years old and I’m still listening his teaching and advice every time I feel sad or discouraged. It gives me immense strength and courage to move forward. He has gone through at lot and he has even said once Buddhism helped him to move forward otherwise thing would have gone completely other way around.

so almost 40 years ago my lovely wife went to a lecture by His Holiness in San Francisco... I'm one of the non believers he mentions occasionally... and I was surprised when my wife was so enthusiastic about his lecture... since then I have read everything I run into by or about him... I don't... believe... very much.. but I absolutely know my wife is really smart... and she's really really nice... I trust her with my life and my sacred honor... I listen to her... I have found only one thing he has said that I disagree with... he says he doesn't do miracles... I have no disagreement with anything else... and after almost 40 years of increasing exposure to his teaching... that's a miracle fer sure 😊 Live Long and Prosper, sir thank you for all you have done for this lovely Planet... and all of us
