@@agustinandreu1058 ~ I believe Lem was referring to the music, which is indeed all American. Born in New Orleans in the early 1900s. *Dixieland Jazz* at it's finest. :-) BTW - The roots of Mardi Gras / Fat Tuesday, / Shrove Tuesday / Carnival began waaaay before the 17th century.

@Knight of talos Not really. I believe they had carnival around New Years Eve where as New Orleans (which was started by people from Mobile) Started in 1857. Mobile didn't move their celebration to the present time until 1868. I also wouldn't say they are the king because of the magnitude of New Orleans Mardi Gras. Bigger Parades and floats as well as more of them. All the famous songs about Mardi Gras is from New Orleans. Most you probably don't play in Alabama due to the text in which they mention New Orleans. So, you may have had some type of carnival before New Orleans, but it wasn't really Mardi Gras until you moved it to the right season.

"Stole"? "Stole"? If you did proper research on how the American Mardi gras celebration(s) began instead of following the same 'ol delusional misconception many Mobilians seem to espouse, you would see how it was a collaboration between Mobile citizens and New Orleanians who formed those "mystic societies" back and forth MUTUALLY thus you have American Mardi gras, no one "STOLE" anything, READ AND DO PROPER RESEARCH instead of jumping on this "stole" bandwagon that uninformed and misinformed Mobile citizens continue to espouse....STUDY YOUR OWN DOCUMENTED HISTORICAL RECORDS FIRST, no one's disputing the fact that Mobile started the first ORGANIZED Mardi gras celebration(s) except some uninformed and misinformed New Orleanians, but-I repeat-no one STOLE anything, it was a MUTUAL collaboration, not a THEFT, lol, c'est tout. ⚜️ ⚜️ ⚜️

This is great audio like a CD but you tube videos are so much more. Where else can you find audio/video of musicians performing live especially in the streets of New Orleans. The music industry is so far behind in not manufacturing audio/video DVDs on flash drives people can plug into USB ported blue ray players or the latest HD TVs.

Why would they sell them on USB drives when you can download them yourself? Because of the Internet you don't necessarily need a physical copy. I disagree that the music industry is far behind. Chance the Rapper for example won a Grammy this year for an album that was only available online.

Wes Tolson Aren't those paid downloads from iTunes or other platforms audio mp3's and not combination audio/video like one can download for free from you tube? This is an audio/video world now and the paid services and record companies are not reacting to it. I would like to see an audio only recoding go viral like some of these video/audio clips on you tube--not happening

+Phil Craven I agree about the analog sound of vinyl being superior to digital. Maybe you could release a vinyl record with an attached digital audio/ video flash drive. Best of both worlds.

Music goes viral all of the time. There are plenty of sites on the internet where the main focus is actually the music itself. It's also stealing if you download videos from KZread. You aren't supposed to be able to "own" copies of KZread videos for free. As for the never ending vinyl vs. digital debate. Vinyl has a distinct sonic quality yes, but digital audio has come a very very long way since the invention of vinyl. I could go into the technical reasons why digital can be just as high quality and even higher quality than an analogue recordings, but people's connection to having a physical disk and the process of using a record player plus sentimental value and a retro feel is the reason they are gaining popularity again. Not because they sound "better." All that being said, if you like LPs better than digital audio, nothing is wrong with that, but to say it's because they are better is fairly ignorant, but again, that's okay.
