Great video. I am a member of the ATHS. Loved the Mack cabover. My first truck as an owner operator was a 1971 F model Mack Western. It wasn't a ( pure pedigree ) as it had a 335 Cummins and a fuller 13 spd . The rubber block suspension you showed back in the day driver's would call them ( hockey puck suspension ). You guy's did a nice job explaining all the old truck .

I was there the previous weekend for the NASA show. Over 2,500 cars. My 52 Buick Special has won best buick in the show 2 times now. There’s a lots to do and see. If you get to hot there are 2 massive buildings with AC!! 10/10 would recommend going.

Those were some amazing trucks. Now im really disappointed that i didnt go to this show . As this guy is showing you all these V8's, he didnt mention that most big truck diesels are inline 6 cylinder. Cool video.

Tommy’s ‘80 International is a 3406A, not a 3406B, but close. Also, it won’t be getting the suspension switched out when he paints the frame.

I thought it was an A, but Cat offered the 1693, 3406a, and 3406b within a 2-3 year period so I sort of guessed it was a B based on the year. And I’m glad to hear it’s not. It’s a really awesome truck and I personally am not a big fan of suspension swaps, but so many guys swap to airbags it wouldn’t have surprised me.

Grew up working at a truckstop, saw those trucks all the time. Saw 3 Dodges about a third of the way through, was so hoping I could hear something about those, that was a rarity to see a Dodge semi.

So there was an 89/90 Mack Value liner from Australia in the background with the Road Train signs on the front and you didn't stop. Geez it to is all Mack, V8 500, Mack running gear, although its similar almost the same as a Superliner II it is the Last of the R model style in Australia, They only made about 200 of these and they are very collectable and valuable. I would want over $200,000 Dollaroos for that !

I think that truck actually has a V8 Cat in it. It has the dog/cat logo license plate. Sounded kind of like one at idle too.

@@mintyman1968 That model was all built with EA9 mack V8' if it has a CAT its aftermarket, and i would doubt it was a V8, I don't know because ole mate didn't give us a proper look, nice video otherwise so thanks for that anyway.

@@deanj9345 I know it’s a V8 because of the hood emblem badge. I just don’t know what type. Both the 3408 and E9 sound kind of similar. License plate is just what throws me off.

@@mintyman1968 Thanks minty, all good mate, It really is a very collectible and highly sought after truck here in OZ nice to see it there. However, with so few of them built and many having hard lives pulling trains maybe only a hundred or so of these left in the wild. Were some great trucks there for sure. I hope you enjoyed. Try trucking with Kermie on here for some Australian truck show content.

Affordable is reasonable. Yet they don't have parts for those classic trucks . Ok
