Outsmart the coyotes (Killers Hide)

Спорт

Im sure some folks will cry about the length of this video, I'm reaching out to the folks that are starting from scratch or just want to see how I get things done. When I first got into night hunting I had to learn everything the hard way, I had no mentors or social media to learn from. Im sharing the content the best I can and hoping it can help someone out in the field.

Thanks for the tips. I've been having some issues with coyotes on my land here in Virginia. They killed some of my animals and now I'm out for revenge, but I've never been much of an animal hunter. So I'm gonna take some of this info and run with it.

The only animal that can tackle the invasive coyote situation is the Wolf.... Man is unable to control them or other invasive species like wild hogs but,,, everyone hates them so,,,, Coyotes it is

You proved the main reason for owning and hunting coyote and jogs with an AR and that is the ability to keep firing without having to chamber a bolt action. When you have to rack the bolt action as can be seen here it nearly always takes you off of your shot and you have to get back on target which is generally not the case with an AR. Great videos, keep em coming bro.

@@TxKiller yeah bro I get it, whatever floats your boat kinda thing. Lol. I like the quicker target acquisition with the AR and not having to fumble with the bolt to reload. I've got 2 bolt guns that are used for deer, my 6.5 Creedmoor AR is for everything else. Lol

Great channel. Finally a hunter who uses common sense bait hunting, not just advertises for the electronic callers. I mostly hunt pigs, but won't waste a good coyote shot. Coyotes and pigs will not scare each other off. I have seen a coyote eating corn with 3 boars in the same circle of corn. When I shoot a pig that is not fit for human consumption, I throw it in a creek for the catfish and crawfish, but also the buzzards, crows and possums get a good free meal. These pigs are also fresh meals for coyotes. I love getting to shoot a coyote or two on a slow pig hunting night.

Great video. Yeah, the kill zone (Pile) works very well for me up in Michigan too. I pick up road kill on the rd. I live on. Its pretty busy. So I get plenty to entice the song dogs to keep coming. I use both a Bolt gun 22-250 and AR platform for doing the dirty work. 224 valkyrie and 22 Nosler. Out to 300 yds. is not a problem. Much beyond that in any kind of wind presents a small issue. Only because I run a "Can" on only small bore guns. If I had to guess, I'd say i've killed a couple hundred over the years on a bait pile. I'm sold on it. Been doing it for about 20 years.

You have a nice setup with the helmet and NV and rifle. Good stuff and I hate coyotes. I love when you said "smoke those jokers". You need a T shirt made up with an yote and that quote. My rifle is just a simple Ruger scout rifle but it's surprising how well it can work even if it's farther out here in the rockies.

You can call them but they smarten up quick if you hunt an area a lot. We have several bone yards on the properties I hunt and when I'm hunting coyotes I just bounce around between them and don't even mess with calling them even though calling is way more fun. But I agree if they can drag whatever they're eating into the woods that's what they're going to do and that makes them much more difficult to kill. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!

Interesting. I'm an Oneillops devotee and ran across you there. I'm running a CMMG Endeavor in 6.5 Grendel with an iRay Bravo imager. I too use dead pigs for coyote bait and have struggled to make it work. Got a couple but it's a slog. Like you I just can't get these coyotes ( SSW Texas ) to come in to a call. They'll talk to me but have yet to get them to come. But I'm a noob so .... My territory is tough. Literally choked with Ash Juniper which everybody calls Cedar. Lately the pigs have disappeared. Bad drought this year and only the oaks in the creek bottoms have any acorns. I appreciate your video about the pig pipe. Gonna build one. EDIT: Good video. Like the old coyote killer said on one of the O'neillops podcasts, "I don't shoot AT coyotes".

Anthony, love the video…specifically how you go into detail on the setup & tactics (everyone only wants to post the kill shots nowadays)! I have a NV rig that I have successfully harvested coyotes with in MI but I want to get some sort of thermal optic (monocular or scope) to aid with scanning at night. Do you have any older units or optics that you have taken out of your rotation that you’d be willing to sell? Preferably something that won’t break the bank.

Bunch of coyotes were eyeballing my neighbors goats a few nights ago. Fireworks all night didn’t scare them off. 0430 I was watering my garden and coyotes started singing. Then one ran right by me maybe 30-35 yards away, just loping along. And me without a firearm! Next morning, 0330, gunfire! 5-6 shots, real quick. I haven’t heard any coyotes since then.

thanks bro for your videos. been hunting all my life and never been more eager to try night vision hunting here in Georgia. just put together the ATN x sight pro on my ar 556 with the sniper hog cannon. that's light weight compared to what you got going on! my next rig I'm wanting to try is the 6mm arc with the Iray rl 42. waiting on my sand man s. whats your thoughts on those rigs? I'm new to this!

Sounds like a good setup but choose your calibers wisely, if you shoot or hunt enough it can get expensive to feed!

I've owned an ATN X-sight about 2 months after the gen 1's came out. Since they're digital, they have some quirks compared to something with a tube but if you get a good IR illuminator and keep it dialed down to a relatively low magnification, they work great! I dedicated mine to a high end suppressed .30 air rifle, and it's stupid accurate. I use it for varmints and predators trying to kill my chickens, without waking up the neighbors. Anyhow, if you keep that scope within its parameters they perform really well!

@Prettie Boi That suppressed rifle I mentioned is a suppressed air rifle, so there is no NFA regulations on it, they just deliver it to your doorstep. My NFA's were taking about 7 months, but I also have a Sandman S on the way through the new e-file. My locals FFL has begun to get the ones filed in January in, so it seems the 3 month thing is working. When did you file, and was it an e-form through Silencer Shop or your local FFL?
