Sadly dyslexia is the forgotten learning difficulty in education due to a lack of understanding and children are left to struggle on a daily basis.
Outside the Square is series of documentaries to increase dyslexia awareness in schools and provide teachers with the knowledge and strategies to give children with dyslexia the opportunity to learn and succeed.
Our journey is through the eyes of teachers that have embraced change. Through their shared experiences and supported by Australia's leading education researchers, we develop an understanding of dyslexia, highlight effective teaching strategies, the need for accommodations and the importance of evidence based instruction.
By challenging current beliefs in education and encouraging teachers to reflect on their own teaching practices, we can facilitate change and transform our schools.
