Such a shame they really are great vehicles it just shows how bad neglect can really be. I have a desert non running Discovery 2 that's worth saving:) I used to do basement waterproofing in Boston I have never seen a vehicle that bad. You should keep that outside with the windows open and spray the whole inside with water and vinegar or bleach then vacuum after it dries. If you get sick it can be scary because the hospital can't really help

I've seen this four times. All four times where the result of the cars being stuffed into a metal storage container for an extended period of time. Those storage containers have no insulation and very temperature so quickly that moisture builds. I bet if you look into it further you'll find out that that Land Rover was stuffed in a storage container at some point.

I had a friend who was a Master tech at a big Land Rover dealership back in the 90s. He told me it wasn’t uncommon for someone to get a massive repair bill estimate, they would simply say just give me whatever it’s worth now and have a new vehicle ready for me by the end of the day to pick up! And that’s just what they did! Just like changing a burnt out light bulb to them.

Thank you for getting me in gear! 3 weeks ago I was driving my 92 Volvo 240 home (44K miles on the clock) and lost a cylinder. I proceeded home on three and got within 200 feet of my house and it wouldn't go any further. I called my wife and had her come in our 05 Scion xB and push me the remainder of the way! Since then, I haven't had motivation to investigate the problem, since we are retired and I don't really need a second car. I did disconnect the coil wire and turn it over and it sounds like something is wrong with every fourth revolution. Maybe a broken valve spring? Anyway, tomorrow is the day I'm going to investigate the problem. I don't want to part with it as it is my garage queen!

You sending her the salvage money really shows your character. I doubt any other shop would even consider this.

I'm in the US so, bonnet makes no sense to me. A bonnet is a head covering. Shouldn't the roof be called the bonnet? Oh well, we are two countries separated by a common language. What really bothers me though, is that I can't understand certain British dialects. I'm not sure which ones but I have no problem with 'Queen's English'.

@@tims8603 As an Englishman, i always chuckle at fanny pack and pants, the joys of language, but as far as the Discovery there working on we have a special word for them when so far gone, we call them scrap or farm trucks if they will run.

I recently rescued a 98 D1 that had also been sitting since 2013. Like this one, it had been immersed in salt water at some point. It cost me 10K Cdn. to fix everything, and that was doing most of the work myself. I ended up gutting the whole interior and cleaning every piece individually, and redoing the headliner. Its been a great rig since, I use it tow my track car or a trailer in the summer, and its unstoppable in snow in the winter. Mine is definitely a keeper. Also have a 98 d1, and bought a couple parts cars as I heard how much trouble these things have. I did the brakes and a few other things when I got it, and after one year it is working great. So fun to drive.

Wizard, the older we get, the faster time gets away from us. At 67, I can be talking to friends and say “remember that time five years ago?” Truth is it was 7,8 or 10. Kudos to to you for speaking to the owner candidly, and allowing her the opportunity to make the best decision. Also, you are indeed a rare breed by graciously scrapping the car, and then sending her the money. Rare breed? I’d say you are a man of character that’s almost extinct today; but there’s hope as you cannot be the only one.😊

Nice to hear you intend to forward what you net on salvage back to the owner. This speaks volumes about the integrity of the Omega Auto Clinic.

great videos. Had a 2004 Discovery for a number of years. I might be wrong but I think the one in your video is a 2003. The 2004 had a fatter roof rack. Should you get that Disco up and running, just remember when you're filling it up at the pumps, shut the engine off. Otherwise you will run the gas stations underground tanks DRY. I bought it used in 2008 and sold it in 2012 for what I paid for it. Minus of course the $$$$$ maintenance .

Agreed on the year. I bought a 2003 Disco brand new and drove it until it rusted out in the rear. Unless the roof/and or roof rails were replaced this is indeed a 2003 Disco

I totally agree with Wizard’s thoughts on repairs. Never let a vehicle sit for long. It’s bad luck when a major component goes bad and it seems like you lose money on both options when deciding repair/replace but parking the vehicle long term rather than making that choice will turn out to be worse in the long run.

We had a similar situation come by the shop once. A lady got a ford cougar from a divorce settlement. Came on flatbed and she asked us look it over. It was the worst car I had seen at that point. They were in court for 3 years and the car sat in high grass with the passenger window down 2”. The smell of mild was nauseating. The under body was just rust, brakes bushings tie rods sun frame all extra crispy. When she got the bad news she just looked at the car and started crying. My boss was at a lose for words. He told he could get running if she really wanted. She looked at my boss and said that her pos of husband made her go through hell to get this car after 3 years. She gave him the keys and the title and said I junk it. My boss called and paid for her cab ride home looked at me and said with a thick Russian accent “ never get married”.

I can concur with time just passing one by. Remember parking my 06 Subaru Impreza due to the infamous Head Gasket issue. It became a true garage queen at that point. Swore I would fix it myself and had even bought all the parts and tools I needed. 7 years later it finally runs. I had a mechanic fix it as I had no time to do it myself. Luckily I have a nice enough garage where it allowed my car to sit for so long without any other issues arising. Started it every other week when I kept it in the garage which always ran perfect until it began to overheat. Do as Mr. Wizard says! Don't sit on repairs! Have it fixed, sell it off or if it's to far from repair, junk it. .

There will be some half decent bits and pieces that can be salvaged but it's so sad to see a lovely Disco going well before it's time. 🙁

Great video,Car Wizard. What a profoundly smart customer. That's a smart woman right there. And it's not weird. The lady got bad advice from a lot of people, and she trusted you. You told her the truth and she believed what you said. This is a great story about a very smart woman and a very honest mechanic. And sadly, a Range Rover that sat in water so long, the water killed it .

In the late 70’s my dad bought us boys a Scout that was rusted like this. Gave us some great experience learning that we didn’t want to become auto mechanics. Some time I wish I still had it, but this brought back so many painful memories.

I have a Disco 1 I am slowly making solid. Not restoring but fixing whatever needs fixing. I just fixed rust around the alpine windows and unblocked the sun roof drains. They'd leaked and the headliner was shot. Since I live in NZ kits to redo them aren't cheap to get so I redid it in grey polar fleece. Looks good, will be interesting to see how it holds up! I also got the rear wiper washer working again which was strangely satisfying even though it's a minor thing.

My guess its a flood vehicle that sat. The rust, mold, and corrosion definitely wouldn't be that bad if it sat for 10 years

Parked very close to a coastal location in New York. Even in a garage that stuff will eat unprotected metal. The amount of fuzz on the aluminium and the amount of rust coupled with large exposed panels like the bonnet looking 'scoured' a testament to a vehicle kept near salt water.

It doesnt even to be by the water- anywhere upstate NY will do that to a car- I worked as a mechanic for a bit after grad school and most everything looked like that- but if you need further proof, just check out some of south main's videos.

She needed confirmation from a trusted shop that it is not worth fixing.

I am very pleased that you are sending the customer the junk money for it. Maybe she really just didn't know what else to do and at least she can recover a little of the shipping cost.

Oh, this is going on Car Wizard's list of Weird Customer Stories. Car Wizard is a Saint! If I were in his shoes and this nightmare showed up at my shop, I'd have some choice four-letter words for this customer. Especially due to the massive mold issue! Recommendation for the customer.... Call up the nearest junk yard and tell them they can have it, _if they're willing to NOT charge you for hauling it away!_ *Edit:* Called it!

Actually the money spent shipping it to you wasn’t a real waste, you told her the truth and no more money will be wasted on this vehicle. Other shops may have charged her a lot just to get it running and ignore the rest of the problems. Literally could cause her thousands in hospital bills breathing in that mold. Or worse.

The money spent to ship a car hundreds of miles was absolutely and stupidly a waste. It is so obvious that the car became a goner a long time ago. We'll never know the whole story, but it never should have come down to this to reach a sensible conclusion about this car.

Crazy no one looked before deciding to ship it. I had a '95 Discovery. Just sold it. Great rig but lacking comfort. Sold it. Almost bought a Discovery 2 but head gasket worries. Picked up a 2012 LR4 HSE a month ago. Overlanding rig. Great capable rig.

Wizzard you are a very nice person. I knew it was a boat anchor right off and you did too. I didn't pick any of your three scenarios cause I knew you wouldn't touch this turn with a ten foot pitchfork. I love your videos.

Honestly, as weird as this whole situation is I actually agree with the customers decision to junk the car. It's just not worth fixing. As you've said before in previous videos, "if you get into a wreck, insurance gives you the value of the car and the rest is lit on fire. You burned all that money!" I agree with that statement, it's not worth it.

@@donc6781 it will live on to help save other Rovers and BMWS that are in need. I believe this one is the same chassis as the BMW X5 but I could be wrong. Either way it will certainly live on to help other cars. A deep steam cleaning and sanitization certainly could make a lot of the interior components reusable again. If you got someone like Larry Kosilla from Ammo NYC to do a quick detail on it he could definitely make it safe to enter at the very least and reduce the health hazard risks for sure.

That looks like a Hurricane Sandy vehicle. Date is about right, and with that much mold they had it flooded with something. I've seen quite a few vehicles with 2012-2013 registration stickers and tires and I'm like NOPE.

As a LR mechanic AND owner myself for over 20 years,i have seen worse and when discussing it with the customer at the end all they had to say was ..........i know,just fix it please. Mindblowing yes,but true story. It happened so many times,i'm not even suprised anymore,but still try to have a serious conversation with the owner and let them see their LR on a ramp to let them see for them selfs what their getting themselfs into. On this D2,the engine was toasted due to lack of coolant and probably overheated severly. And as the Car Wizzard said,that started the decay of this vehicle. Its sad,since it' s a great colour and spec. Respect for being honest to the customer and letting have her get the salvage money.👌👍

I would simply be glad for the reasonable, understanding client. This situation goes really badly more often than not. The forwarding of the funds from salvage is a good gesture. Feel sorry for them too. That transportation was not inexpensive.

A ”No start issue” is beyond an understatement.

We owned a 2000MY Discovery 2 here in the UK from 2004 to 2017 with the 2.5L Td5 diesel engine and the R380 5-speed manual box. Great vehicle, and mechanically it was incredibly reliable, but my word it rusted so badly. At 9 years old it needed welding on the rear chassis rails, and not too long after that it needed a new rear quarter chassis. A drooping headlining is par for the course with these, but all of that mould saddens me. What I will say though is that a lot of people would so dearly love a chassis that solid here in the UK, because they're normally far worse than this. Over here, that would be regarded as a solid project vehicle, especially as so many are scrapped with terminal rot, meaning there's plenty of good interiors available. It's a shame it's being scrapped as it'd make a great project for somebody if they had the time - indeed I'd love to have had it because we never got the 4.6L V8.

That D2 would make an ideal project car for someone looking to uprate one in their spare time.. As for park and forget,i did that when the alternator went on a rare in the UK pick up,i seen the prices of a new alternator and said sod that i'll hunt around for a 2nd hand alternator instead,then couldn't get the bolt out so then it rained like hell and became a next dry day job.. Nearly three years later it was seized solid on the brakes,seized doors etc so it went it's journey. If you have a motor sat like that in the open it doesn't take long for it to get a whole lot worse

Your observations about not putting off a repair until some time later (which will always be later than you think) is so wise. There's no reason for anyone to heed my advice, but for whatever it's worth, here it is: if you've got a car, and you're not wealthy, join a credit union and put a bit away each week or month, so you have access to a cheap loan when a situation like that comes around.

With the mold and severe rust being signs of a flood... along with upstate NY and 2013 date you mentioned I found the following incident: "The heavy rains also pushed streams over their banks in the Adirondacks and caused flooding as far south as Chenango County, north of Binghamton. [...] "When I woke up, l was already in water waist deep," he said Fire officials said there was two to three feet of water on some streets in the village of Herkimer and that emergency crews have rescued at least three people from their flooded homes. There are several reports of flooded basements. " I just hope the other shop that held this vehicle to do what I'm assuming were two minor unnecessary things didn't lead her on and leech money off of her a bit by bit throughout the years. I'd want to throw that thing away too after that. You're a good man for sending her the check. 👍

The minute he said the rotors were rusted to the point the wheels were basically locked And mentioned the corrosion under the hood I already knew it was submerged

Not submerged, that's years of sitting in dirt. You can see grass remnants under parts of the suspension. Brakes that look like that won't happen from a flood car. It takes years of rain splatter and moisture.

That's normal corrosion for upstate New York due to the yearly winter salt baths so unless some precautions were taken to mitigate the damage, that's what you end up with after a decade or so.

I honestly thought Wizard was going to tell the customer he wouldn't touch and offer to sell it to a salvage yard. I'm pretty sure that's what I would do if I were a mechanic. There just isn't enough vehicle left to start from, and you would be cutting off and drilling out bolts left and right.

Body looks good, wheels will go for money, Wizard can probably get a better salvage price than the customer, so yep scrapping in Kansas is the best option.

Huracine Sandy happened in November 2012, there was a lot of flood cars from that in downstate NY. I can totally see her not being sure if previous mechanics were competent enough and you were her last chance, it didn’t work out so car was written off.

I'm driving into Newton, rolling by the Wizards shop. Listening to this video, I look over and there's the Land Rover.

I'm surprised you didn't notice the drivers side catalytic converter has been cut off.

The Project Farm videos about rust converters, Fluid Film and truck bed sprays might have saved this from rust, a few minutes every fall to touch up underneath. The newer vehicles have a better dip process, so the slowly failing computer chips are usually more of a problem after 15 years. Especially for some brands that tend to have a lot more electrical errors when scanned after years of use.

Salted roads and non galvanized steel. Chipsets and limp home mode. Both are great methods of inbuilt obsolescence.

Thank you Wizard and Mrs. Worked at a Land Rover garage, and fell in love with Defenders. Vehicle from a flood. Ground up rebuild - YIKES Think $2k to ship across the country, get $500 scrap?

FYI: last inspected in 2012 (2013 is the year the sticker expires not the year it was issued) In NY we have different colors each year it goes on in a cycle. Red, Blue, Gray, Yellow then it repeats. In NY cars 25 years old and newer must pass OBD2 and safety each year. Safety only for new cars and any car 25 years old or older. The CEL must be off and can only have one monitor pending or not set. Here in NY the air bag and ABS light can be on and you will still pass inspection, again if the CEL is on you FAIL. If your car has aftermarket tint that is too dark you will also fail inspection. This truck will fail for that rust here in NY, that thing is scrap.

Can they fail you for non functioning windows? like if you roll the windows down and pull the relay, and just say "the windows don't work", would that be a way around failing from tint?

@@SaxaphoneMan42 That's one trick you can try to play. If you pull in with the windows down. You can hope that they won't play with the window switch but if they put the windows up and see their tinted you will fail. But now they can't fail you if the windows don't work

With that many restrictions, I would get an out of state UPS mail box (not a PO Box) and register my car from there. Like here in Kansas. You don't even have to show your car to renew, just show your proof of insurance and you're good.

@@goqwertygoThat's one way you could go sometimes, especially in small villages and towns. Not necessarily in New York City. You have to change your registration if your car is in the state for more than 30 days. I know other states have a similar law, so small town police upstate especially in the Adirondacks or on Long Island. Might give you a ticket or try to bust your balls after a while but in a big city like New York City or Buffalo nobody's really going to mess with you.

To be fair to her, she probably had no idea that there was so much wrong with it. If she has had previous experience of being ripped off then at least she had peace of mind that an expert has looked at it. Imagine if she had taken it to a local garage and they tried to fix it for a couple of thousand?

Couple thousand what more like 5k to start on the fuel system alone are u serious? Fuel tank Lines Fuel rails All injectors Fuel pump and filter Fuel neck Price those parts alone u will be like holy shit!!! Then u have labor Then all the brakes complete with calipers and lines Then labor now to the engine lol Now to the interior lol This would be 20k easily

Yup 20k and I'm sure British import car parts are 5 times more than a GM product. Labor rates are at 120 bucks an hour . Imagine the labor just to remove the interior, throw out the carpet. Paint the floorboards with a rust proof paint, install new carpet and then pay a specialist to clean with vinegar the leather to remove rest mold (or find an interior from a junkyard). You may run into rusted wiring under the carpet etc. Then you need a whole new exhaust including cat and oxygen sensors. Those two things are the "thousands".

You missed the missing exhaust pipes, probably cats. Also probably a rusted out chassis around the rear wheel arches. SCRAP!

I wonder if a prison sentence was involved in it sitting for so long. And the owner just got out and found out that a family member parked the car in a pond/river while drunk.

This what you would expect to find on most 4x4s when you buy second hand in the UK and Ireland it's due to the weather. We have so much rain and unpredictable wether the cars just rot. Also here in Ireland cars are kept outside all seasons all year round the sheds are used to keep the garden equipment. Its more common to see tractors, quad's and trailers inside.

I live in upstate NY, and I have a similar story. '06 RRS SC, RF hub went in the middle of winter. Put it in the garage, and at the time I had no heat in the garage, didn't need the car, and figured I would get to it in the spring. Mistake. The salt and moisture literally destroyed the undercarriage. Brakes, control arms, radiator, condenser, brake lines, etc., etc., and yes the interior was completely covered in mold. This was over the span of a winter. I literally stripped the suspension, the braking system, and sanded/blasted the entire frame, etc. rebuilt everything that was salvageable, and purchased the remaining parts. I removed the majority of the interior, ionized the cabin, mold-bombed it, and oddly, used lemon juice on the seats, etc. The good thing was that I had no gas issues, and the car started even with crappy gas and sounded decent considering. Obviously, it has taken months and I am still not finished putting it back together, partially because I just don't have the time, and partially because I have a '14 RRS SC and a '15 RR SC, and partially because everything little thing that needs repair or refurbishing gets attention. I will complete it, however; when I don't know. The upside for me is that I probably have about $2K into it, but I don't even know how many hours. If I was smart I would have had the insurance company write it off as a bio-hazard due to the mold, but it does keep me busy when I have nothing else to do during the long cold winters here.

Depending where in New York State she lives it might have cost her more to recycle the Vehicle then just send it out of state via delivery service and have a shop scrap it for her and get money back. I am happy that you where able to get great content from this Situation. Love your content

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I live 20 min north of the city and recently scrapped a car, made $500. It was honestly in similar condition (though not quite so bad). It was rusty, didn't run, very moldy interior. They came with a tow truck and a check and just took it away. And the company that did that doesn't appear to have any restrictions on where they pick up cars from.

I'm always going to watch a D2 video. I've had one for a little over 5 years and I've learned quite a bit about them. It's a shame to see one in this condition. I'd like to know which salvage as I'd like to buy the headlights. I want to retrofit mine with projectors so doing it with an extra set means the vehicle doesn't have to be down while I do all that custom work

I've stopped this at 11.44 and have to say here in England that heap of shit would go straight to the scrap yard because that's all it's good for. Maybe have the doors and wings ( fenders) off to sell the rest is complete scrap. I've now watched the full video and I'm happy to say that I was correct! Off you go to the junk yard pronto!

Here in NY they apply liquid rust to our road surfaces every winter. The results are like hydrochloric acid. Everything just dissintegrates

Gotta look out for those car dealers and car company shareholders...

This is what happens in places where there's salt put on roads in the winter. Anything not covered in oil or wax gets destroyed. Even worse if the owner never washes the underside, if they just get the cheapest wash cycle without underbody wash or wash it by hand. I even know people who don't wash their car at all during winter, saying that it'll get dirty immediately anyway, yes but you'll have salt sitting on everything the entire winter. I wash my cars more often in the winter, and put underbody wax on all exposed frame and body parts to protect against rust.

Honestly, as far as NY cars go, the underside looked surprisingly clean to me. People down south legitimately have no idea how bad it is up north and it ends up being quite shocking. And while some states use less corrosive salts, NY uses straight up NaCl.

Poor truck just needs a little love. That mold will wash off. I have a 95 and love it. Been wanting an 04 too!

I bought my 4th one again last December. I used the excuse I didn't have a way of getting a Christmas tree!🤷🏼‍♂️ Seemed like a logical thing when I bought it?

I bought an 03 Disco 2 recently and pit could be an identical twin to this one. And yet, I love it so much.

The walk around this truck was a real surprise..... I've never seen rotors so rusty. Looks like they were "Deep Fried"!!! Sad story overall! I had to off load my 2006 Mini.... it started having Weekly problems... Time to GO!!!

I have a LR and it saddens me to see this one go like this. I, in my massive lack of wisdom would want to try and fix this one, but yeah, salvage yard would be the proper way to go. I think this would be a cool modification platform for a bigger offroader, maybe a diesel engine instead of the gasoline one... Who knows. Given time and effort it could become something like the Dirt Lifestyle 1-ton axle beast.

There is this Land Cruiser about a block from where i work and its been sitting for at least 8 years, i have asked them to sell to me like 3 times and they always say "nope i am going to fix it soon". I now have noticed new rust spots on it, i live near the coast so i know what the sea breeze does to a vehicle, i am not saying this discovery is the case but i hate it when people hold on to cars and let them rust away instead of selling them when they still have a chance to get fixed up and used.

At 9:58 you can see half of the exhaust is missing... How did you not see that 😁

Looks like it's been sprayed down with saline every week for a year!

One of the youtube channels I watch in the UK saw their van left outside in the rain with the hood open. What's worse is this was for 2 weeks and the head was removed and not covered at all so the internals were open to the elements. This tops that at least the entire interior wasn't a bio hazard zone.

I remember leaving my old LS400 in my father in law back yard with some other cars for several years when Valvoline Instant Oil Change recommended a transmission flush on my vehicle. Not knowing that I had I closed transmission the Lexus dealership informed me that VIOC ruined my transmission. I took it and parked it for several years until the used transmissions were very affordable. All the other vehicles had mice droppings and mold everywhere in the interior, even the vehicle that had only been sitting for one year but the LS400 had no mold or mice droppings inside. The exhaust had rotted out from sitting in grass but everything else was still good. It started up with just a new battery. Those Lexus LS models were made really really well in the 90’s.

This scenario had me thinking that this was a prank on you set up by Tyler!!! I do feel bad for the lady who owned this pile!!! 👍👍🙂

Honestly my initial guess was exactly what she asked you to do with it, but then it didn't show up in the options. It is sad, but yeah this is beyond saving, if it was not completely corroded a case could have been made for it.

idk, I'd say engine replacement would be warranted if the interior wasn't rotten. for the midwest that undercarriage looked about right for a 2004.

I had a really weird situation like that but more insane at my shop. Customer came in and the car was in terrible shape. Had been sitting for years, was an 05 with only 30k on it. Car needed a suspension rebuild, four tires, all new light bulbs, quite a bit of wiring work, and more. And the customer called us after we provided the initial quote and asked us to look at MORE stuff to quote. By the end of it, we had a quote for 42,000 dollars, 34,000 of which was a new OEM engine. The customer approved ALL of it, insane.

Mold aside, this is a great project car! And please don't junk it, the parts can be used to save other classic Land Rovers!

You probably can buy the parts at the salvage yard.

I'm all about saving cars, but yeah. This one is done. Oddly, my buddy and I have two older Nissans that have sat for much longer that still moved and ran with no interior distress or other odd things. While they didn't run well, they could still be jumped and moved under their own power. (A 90 300ZX and 89 Skyline GT-R).

That's how creditable of a mechanic he is plus going viral on KZread enabled the whole world to discover his shop. Without KZread or the internet in general he would probably be only be working on local costumer cars. I wouldn't be surprised if some people try to on a whim move to the witacha area just so they can live near the wizards shop.

That’s like a 94 Land Cruiser that showed up at my shop yesterday. Started missing randomly. Engine bay is missing half of its fasteners. Oil everywhere, random side of road repairs. Customer story doesn’t add up, interior is trashed. I regret accepting the tow 😅

Seeing that sitting outside your shop last week, I was thinking this was a hoovie special.

So... What kind of treatment would you recommend for that mold? Is there anything you CAN do to get the mold removed or killed to be safe to be around? Would an Ozone fogger do any good or would it be too little too late for that Land Rover?

I've got a 98 300TDI and I've had it 15yrs and spent easy £5k keeping on the road, top end rebuild, fuel pump rebuild and £2.5k body and chassis welding only to find £2k of that welding was bodged and covered well (in fact more effort had been put into bodging than the work it would of need to sort it in the first place) Luckily I found out one of my friends was welder that is happy to accept booze, favours and electric money to sort most of the problems and will eventually get round to doing the rest, I only nearly scrapped it when I found out about the £2k welding that needed redoing but the only thing that stopped me was having just paid £700 out for the fuel pump. I love that car and would spend silly money on it if it's repairable as long as the wife doesn't find out.

Weirded-out Wizard...maybe you can salvage parts like the door handles, side-view mirrors, etc.?

Around the end of June 2013, there was a severe weather system that hit Toronto. we had power out and some flooding, including a Ferrari caught in an underpass when the storm sewers back-flowed and flooded under there. My guess is that this Land Rover was caught in the same weather system and flooded. Too bad the customer was not up front with you about it being a flood car.

David I am glad you really like these vehicles. In Australia they are only purchased by people who want to run around cities and do quick sojourns up north now and again. For serious hard work Landcruisers are the go plus Nissan and some Mitsubishi Pajero models. The Range Rovers are not properly supported in the bush and around the city dealers price gouge to hell on repairs. Not a popular vehicle here in Australia although odd groups of folks seem to love them.

Actually her response was the only reasonable one!

Non starting issue. The issue is its not driven for 10 years 🤣

Understatement of the year!

I parked a LX470 for months and the rear window wasn't closed we had a similar mold issue but we got most of it off, 2 weeks cleanup process we undid every panel and switchgear... Only the headliner had to be redone professionally. Pretty lucky still

In Michigan that is mild to normal rust here for a early to mid 2000s vehicle. You all are so lucky that live in areas that don't have a lot of snow or use salt.

You should offer that to Hoovie and see if he takes it.

The Discovery 2 has to be one of my all time favorite looking vehicles

B. The frame rust scares me. Here in Arizona, I was asked to check out a 2000 something Jeep Wrangler; frame had a LOT of reinforcement metal welded to it but, I drove it on the alignment rack and, the rear suspension was dog tracking like crazy.
