It's not about the children for most administrators/board members/superintendent at LSR7... They also despise most teachers that, actually, work nonstop to help students succeed. They are lost souls hiding behind their legal protection... They worship their attorneys and their 'concern' for children is all for show!

Home schooling your kids doesn’t reduce the amount of school taxes paid to this man salary increase. That’s the whole point, why should he make 400K while the same teachers make 40K and less. Why should you pay school taxes if your kids don’t attend school?

It has nothing to do with paying taxes. But to your point, you're correct. No one should be paying taxes to a school if your kid doesn't go there. That's why we should abolish the Department of Education. Give every tax penny to the parents and let them see fit how to use it-whether that's a charter school, home schooling, private, parochial etc...

@@stevelopez372 Ohhhh trust me. I know! I've been a teacher for 19 years. NEA and AFT are giants at lobbying and vouchers, school choice, getting rid of the dept of education will NEVER happen (at least through legislation). The only way it can happen is if enough parents pull their kids out of school and homeschool or set up school co ops with other parents which a lot of parents are doing. Once enrollment decline hits them then they'll start to realize there's a problem. But even then that's not a guarantee. The teacher's unions are the worst. The ONLY reason why many teachers (conservatives included) are in the union is because of their liability insurance. You have legal representation which is absolutely necessary due to sue happy parents and crazy administrators wanting to get you fired.

They were ALL overpaid compared to frontline teachers, rarely focused on improving education, & became administrators because they were crappy in the classroom. They protected their friends and harrassed those who weren't bootlickers. "Follow through" was non existent. People blame teacher unions for the inability to fire poor teachers. That is BS. It is totally due to lazy administrators. I loved my time in the classroom, but in NO WAY I would get into education today were I a young person. The board should all be replaced in this instance. If he took home a clean 100k instead (after taxes) he could fund needed salary increases for about a dozen teachers, maybe more. He could increase the base pay of his teachers across the board, making the district one of the most competitive in the country. He could fund powerful and long lasting district wide initiatives. But no, I guess he needs to buy like 3 more cars or something. I would argue that no SP should make more than $150k, and that amount would be for large districts. That money should really go back into the system as reinvestments into the schools’ missions. Judging from the building the meeting was held in, the school district is quite wealthy, or at least well off. The kids likely have most of what they need. Why not just increase teacher salaries or support staff salaries? Why not save the money for rainy days?

@@jasonelizondo8879 you seem to think you know a lot about me. You also seem to think that tossing out childish insults somehow means you've made a compelling argument. Really what you've made is a concession. I accept.

I'm a teacher too. So let's use our critical thinking here. He ran a school system of more than 20 schools, each one with near or more than 100 teachers and faculty. Each school has tens of millions of dollars in assets, and is responsible for every adult, parent and student that comes through its doors. Compare that salary to your typical office CEO who probably makes more than 10 times that amount for fewer than 10% of the resources and something close to 1% of the responsibility of a school superintendent.

I think we are all getting hit by something. It is interesting to share our stories and try to find a common ground about what is bringing all this on...It just seems nonstop...I was told by the Oakland Unified School District I would get paid for working with my younger Son because I had not been placed in a classroom as a State Union Worker because many of the Oakland School's were closing and was under construction. It's as if none of these incidents took place. I have not been paid for anything not even unemployment benefits. They just kept letting my cases and proof go past statue. I have never seen such envy and bias. It is far past wrong and upsetting. It is very illegal and ANNOYING. It was definitely an abuse of power situation going on. I want answers to where is my money? Why do the Renee C. Davidson Court get to play these kinds of mind games? Play with my younger Son and I. We did not need any help..I appeared at every Court Hearing for the School Complaint. My home Complaint. The Santa Rita Complaint where parties did not respond. I asked for my request for the default of judgment advised by my paid Attorney. It was as if someone was telling my Attorneys not to do anything but make me feel like I lost my cases. I do not appreciate these People ignorance and prejudices...
