    I know I'm really late to the party here but I would like to add that it is really nice to see a partition wall that is very well done. I hope to begin my first van this spring and I wouldn't even consider building a van without a full partition. It was like the first thing I thought of, yet I rarely see it in any of these videos. And it seems odd. It makes it easier to heat/cool and also gives a nice full wall to decorate and feel like home. So what if you miss out on the swivel seats. I just don't get the "we need more seats in case we have friends over" excuse. Who has friends over and meets up in a....van? Really? Has it come to this? Does someone really need to say it? Just go outside. You'll be fine. There's no bears out there. Trust me. If it's raining your friends should be kind enough to realize this and say "hey, it's kind of cramped in your van and it smells like dirty laundry and stale farts from holding in your shit too long, can we just hang out tomorrow?" That's what civilized people are supposed to do. Getting back to that partition wall, does it go right up to the "attic" space of the Promaster and actually seal off the front cabin from the back? Is it sealed off enough to even require insulation? Or does it just stand there on it's own, unconnected at the top of the wall? The video, nor the photos on your website (your posted link doesn't work, btw) provide a clear photo. Nice video, thank you for sharing.

    Why did not you prefer to put the cook-top on the left and the sink on the right-side, so that during the cooking (when the big sliding van door is open) the smell and heat can be ventilated out because it's nearly and already like outdoor cooking?

    BUT...I enjoy washing dishes not facing a wall! Plus faucet can swing around and be used to rinse shoes, dog, etc. outside van. Maybe replace with a portable induction stove that could be used on flip-up counter extension--and on garage pullout table.

    I love this van! With the composting toilet, is there enough space in the garage for 2 folding electric bikes or could the toilet be moved under a bench and go side by side with the shower?

  • @OutpostVans

    @OutpostVans

    3 жыл бұрын

    Depending on the size of the bikes you could fit two folding bikes in the garage. The composting toilet would not fit under any bench seat and also needs to be vented outside the van. So clearance under the van is a factor with placement.

    Hi! We love your van! We are about to start a conversion. What are your thoughts on the induction? We heard they use a lot of power and require a lithium battery... If you don't also mind, would you share what you paid for the lithium batteries? Thank you!

  • @OutpostVans

    @OutpostVans

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks Trudy! You will need at least 3x100 amp hour lithium batteries and a 3k inverter to power most induction cooktops. The constant load on High heat is around 1400 watts.

    3:00 whenever someone has a shower in the same space as a drawer I get confused. So do you pull out the drawer, then the shower appears in the corner section (not the drawer) up against the wall? Thus when you use the shower the drawer section is pulled out/open? Can someone pls show step by step walk thru what this would look like? Ie is it that while you are showering the drawer section is pulled out, adjacent to the area you are showering in? Basically this means that the stuff you have in the drawer, are open on the drawer, next to where/when you are showering? (Unless you remove them/empty then after pulling open the drawer? ijs what exactly will this look like, step by step, leading to the shower/ including during shower use? Videos cut to show the shower pan but don't show what the shower area on function looks like, ie when shower area is in use/shower area is exposed, assumedly, the drawer is open, and it's contents are directly outside the shower?

  • @OutpostVans

    @OutpostVans

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yup, Just pull open the drawer to reveal and access/step in the shower pan. Deploy the shower curtain, hookup the quick disconnect hose/shower head and take a shower. Drawer is in open position while showering.

    Looks nice, but isn't it a little lite on battery power with induction cooking, especially 2 hubs? I love pocket door design, I like that idea, control heating and cooling plus extra security.

    Thanks! We have found that 4 x 100 amp hour lithium batteries and a 3k inverter is more than enough power for the induction cooktop and electric water heater. We have done this same setup with 3 x 100 amp hour batteries and the system worked fine.
