In this session Trevor Ivory (Partner and UK Head of Planning) is joined by Michael Greig (Legal Director) and Henry Jeffreys (Senior Associate) for a discussion of the new statutory regime for biodiversity net gain in England and the emerging position in Scotland in light of the recent publication of new guidance.
Building on the draft guidance and regulations issued in England last month, this session considers:
- What is involved in the new regime;
- When it will come into force;
- What developments it applies to;
- How you calculate your biodiversity gain;
- How to deliver biodiversity gain; and
- How the requirement will apply to certain types of development such as s73 applications for planning permission subject to amended conditions, phased permissions and Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.
