I swear this damn series has the best cast of all time.

Damn it...between his accent and his sense of humor, Richard Rankin is slowly proving to be my perfect man. Why, God why????

I don't understand those negative comments about Sophie. She's just perfect for Bree : she has the temperament of her father and the courage of her mother, mixed into one and unique personnality. She plays well, she's not simpering, she's straight forward, pure honnesty. I like her very much for it. And her and richard have such a chemistry... Can't wait

She looks NOTHING like either Sam or Cat! that's one of the biggest problems! First, they BOTH have BLUE eyes, and hers are BROWN, second, they barely even TRIED to make her hair red. Third, her features look NOTHING like theirs. In the books, Bree is basically Jamie in drag. She is six foot, large framed, with tons of CURLY FLAMING RED hair, Jamie's EXACT BLUE EYES are the feature that's mentioned the most, and also her chiseled facial features. BUT, even with all of that amiss, I could have accepted her as Bree IF she had been a good actress and IF she had chemistry with Roger. SHE IS A TERRIBLE ACTOR...JUST TOTALLY CRING-WORTHY! Also, she and poor Richard Rankin have ZERO chemistry! All of their scenes together, which should have been so sweet and charming, have been totally cringy because of those two facts. Outlander's casting has been 100 percent spot-on in every role major and minor, until now, and the comparison stands out like a VERY sore thumb! I understand that there was a time crunch to cast Bree, and that maybe they couldn't find anyone suitable in time to film, BUT they should have kept up the search and RECAST Bree as soon as the found a replacement. Bree is going to become the center of the future storylines (if they follow the novels) and having the RIGHT actress is going to be VITAL to pull that off.

@@whutzat I wasn't even talking about the physical aspects, read me again : temperament, courage. I think she's a good actress and I explained why. She's not cringy at all. I know what cringy is like, we have tons of cringy actors in France. Don't be so harsh.

that's some pretty damn high praise saying he had the most swoon- worthy look on Outlander. To be fair, I think about that look he gave like every other day.

I loved when he sang to the rats in Season 2. It was one of my favorite interactions between them in the book as well. I'm really happy they put it into the show.

I was thinking a little, and if Roger is Dougal's son that makes him Brianna's uncle, am I right? I have nothing against them, and I know that was very common on those days, but really? Or there's something I don't know?

Roger is not Dougal's son, he is a descendant of that baby. Roger was born in the 20th century. He is the child he sees in the first season at the Reverend's house.

Get over it they aren't going to recast now and no chemistry with Richard for heavens sake don't agree you think she could have been cast how many six foot redhead. Blue eyed actresses do you know she's not that much shorter than Sam ! And bad actress you try coming into a established cast halfway through their second season when you don't have a large resume under your belt were you this critical of caitriona when she was cast because it was the same scenario . You'll have to deal with it you can't have everything they tried contacts to make her eyes blue didn't work proved damaging to her eyes and proved impractical same as they tried light brown for Caitriona to give her Claire's whisky coloured eyes ( using Jamie's description ) and google it two blue eyed people can have a brown eyed child if these are your criticisms of this nice young woman then stop watching end of !

Saundra Dalgleish yes that's David Berry one of our great actors here in Australia speaking as his fellow countrywoman ! He's a talent doing a great job here and yes I've seen a place to call home it's won some logies awards ( our television awards ) these are named after the inventor of television and yes he's a scot John Logie Baird . Most of the inventions we take for granted were invented by Scots I didn't know this one till later but even the fax machine ! Nothing if Not a resourceful people ! And I agree on Sophie and Richard she does look like she could be Sam and Caitrionas daughter irl ! Some people like the above commenter are way too harsh and judgemental she grew on me especially in ep 5 of last season she perfectly understood her fathers feelings and she hasn't even met him yet ! That and the selflessness she displayed as Brianna in letting her go made me think the casting directors have cast the perfect person !
