I don’t know who these guys are, I only watched to see Sam Heughan. But these guys are the best Interviewers I’ve seen in years. What a great show with insightful questions. A pleasure to watch.

I agree with those who especially liked this interview of actor Sam Heughan. His portrayal of Jamie Fraser in Outlander is extraordinary and, though he is presenting us with a character developed by author Diana Gabaldon as a lovable heroic figure and principled man, I can't help but feel that Sam Heughan's own soul shines through in his portrayal. I felt that at the beginning of the High Performance interview Mr. Heughan was a bit tense, as I have the impression that he is a shy person for whom interviews are a chore and a challenge. The interviewers worked impressively well together: Damian Hughes asked the probing questions that sought from Mr. Heughan more personal responses; he elicited some of the more revealing and candid answers, though often Mr. Heughan did not provide the level of depth that Mr. Hughes was seeking. Mr. Humphreys was the "good cop," laying out some of the background for Mr. Heughan to expand on. Some of Mr. Heughan's answers were a bit repetitive or vague, until he spoke about his youth and early career; then we did see a very honest, open and vulnerable human being. My wish for Sam Heughan is not that he be cast as James Bond, but that he be very choosy and smart about the next roles he accepts; that they be the kinds of roles that will continue to make his acting career grow and shine. He is gifted, not only by his good looks but by a beautiful spirit.

I commend Sam's mother for bringing up such a well rounded, respectful and caring son. I was a single mother of 3 boys myself. To play both parental rolls is alone difficult, but to have your child become such a success and stay humble. Great job!!

What a relief to finally watch a “Real” interview. He’s always on the go doing promotions for books & shows. No one ever really talks about who “He” is & what drives him to do what he does. Yeah, he’s handsome as Hell, but the acting is for our entertainment, it’s not really who Sam is. So this was a breath of fresh air to watch. Insightful, challenging questions. Great job to all of you.

So, I discovered Outlander in early 2021 with my husband - and then I started researching on Sam... And found out that he's awfully hard not to like and I learned about MPC. Like most people during Covid, my general health wasn't great and I joined MPC to kick myself in the butt and if that didn't help, well, at least 50% of what I paid was donated to worthy causes. I don't follow the MPC daily videos yet but I began running every other day, got myself a smartwatch and my health (and my husband's) is way better now. We don't lose our breaths going uphill anymore. And yeah, we've lost weight too because we decided to ditch the daily crisps/chips, candy, or whatever. And somehow, Sam was the inspiration for it all. Thank you for this great interview with this gem of a human being!

I enjoyed Sam’s interview SO MUCH!!! He is so humble and down to earth and so likable!!! You can tell he was raised right and has true character. He is extremely handsome and charming, but what makes him such a CUT ABOVE the rest is that he is so humble and not stuck on himself. He seems to have such a kind and caring heart. So glad to have seen this!!! GREAT INTERVIEW!!!👏👏👏

12/19/2023- I just love the real humble man who Sam is. So refreshing to see the authenticity of who he is, and what he stands for. The values, kindness, and generosity are so pure. Kudos to Sam: King of Men!!!!

I have watched a lot of interviews with Sam Heughan and this is the most in depth to date. I feel like it was focusing on new Sam himself and drawing out his passions of life. Sam is very insightful and he is using his success as a brilliant actor to make significant positive changes to people's lives around the world. Whether that is through My Peak Challenge, his charity work or the outstanding role model he is for Scotland. Thank you for the interesting look into acting with Sam. (MPC since 2015)

What struck me first was how penetrating the questions from the interviewers were. They listen on an unusually deep level. Their responses to Sam's answers reflect that. Sam appears to be a deep, thoughtful sort of person. He cares not only about those close to him but those whom he has never even met. What a genuine, big heart he has! I've seen him on panels making a parody of himself. It's an interesting form of self-protection but still very charming. We sense his true goodness behind the playfulness. I loved seeing the real man here. BTW Extremely handsome, successful men seem often to be the victims of prejudice when it comes to awards and accolades in the acting industry. They are overlooked until they are older. Professional jealousy? Sam has obviously experienced this. He is every bit as talented as Tobias or Caitriona, who were lauded. It would be an interesting line of questioning if he returns for another interview.

Gentlemen. An expert interview. Clearly well-researched as the human being behind the ‘actor’ was there for the whole interview. All 3 of you are masters of the understatement.

This is definitely the best interview of Sam Heughan that has been on line. As he says, the interviewers have done their homework, and it showed. Therefore, he felt comfortable with the process, and knew he could answer their questions in more depth.

Bravo to all concerned. In the hosts' faces I saw curiosity, intense listening, and humanity. Mr. Heughan obviously sensed this welcoming atmosphere and responded in a relaxed and candid and serious way. I also learned more about Sam's approach to acting than I had from hours of previous interviews. One of Sam's most revealing statements in the past is that he loves the sound of a theatre audience listening. Perhaps his entrepreneurial achievements are now providing him with passions equally exciting for him, but his acting will always be number one for me.

Sam is such an inspiration. People sometimes underestimate him due to his good looks. This interview shows us the true grit he has and how he views himself and how hard he works.. a person who gives back and is still willing to learn. He has a great attitude to life...successes or failures. So much to learn from this incredible human being.

He is. Pursuing dreams is something I am a strong believer in, too. A person that preaches that can bring hope to the world 🌎. He’s a wonderful human being and I pray for him daily that he continues to succeed not just his in career, but in his life, health (physical, mental & spiritual). This is quite possibly the best interview I’ve seen with Sam. He is absolutely an astute, intelligent, big hearted and quick witted high performer. Your questions allowed us all to see the depth of feeling that is behind many of the things he does. I like that he’s not content with the status quo and has allowed businesses and passion projects to grow organically. His early education and upbringing truly shaped his purity of thought. I am not surprised that his number one value is honesty in the people he surrounds himself with. The flow of this conversation was great to watch. You guys are good at what you do. Thanks for letting us get some insight into how Sam feels about his journey and successes.

I'm halfway through the interview and have to leave a comment of how inspirational this interview is. The interviewers are both keen and respectful. I'm somewhere in my mid-career drift and this is what I need to have some motivation. So, Thank you guys!

It's gratifying that when asked about high performance he primarily referred to himself as an actor- not an entrepreneur, fitness addict or philanthropist. That's right, Sam, irrespective of your other committments, you remain an actor through and through.

I so enjoyed Sams interview. His openness, humbleness, his honesty, his being down to earth speaks volumes. While we all struggle in certain areas of our lives, it makes us stronger, gives us the drive, ambitions we need to succeed in life. It's okay to dream and to fulfill them. Being guarded and being able to discern, having a few close friends believing in self and knowing your self worth are crucial in life.

Being able to examine our own values and goals is a gift that Sam has as he reveals his work ethic and determination that has made him so successful. Being in the now and working as an instinctual actor is always a challenge because the outcome can change quickly. A person’s motivation begins with a dream, a love, and believing in yourself and then self determination has to rule the dream! Sam has that character and humanity, it is who he is! We are lucky to have him!

Just loved this. It explains his technique in finding Claire in the people who auditioned. I like that he talked about how he makes others as comfortable as possible and because he is an instinctive actor, it really helped the people casting Outlander to find Cate as Claire since he was part of the interview/audition per se. This is such an honest interview.

Now here's one of the best interviews I've seen of Sam. This one is Sam Heughan the person. Not only is it beautiful on the outside, it is even more beautiful on the inside. I loved meeting this Sam. Not everyone in the film industry allows themselves to go into the most private part of their lives. Congratulations Sam Roland Heughan, and to the hosts a big BRAVO because they knew how to ask the right questions. Thanks

Reminding folk of the reality of acting is one of the best comments Mr. Heughan could have made....people tend to forget the characters played or simply performances. Thoroughly enjoyed the interview and a new found respect for the man.

I’ve not watched Outlander yet, (I know, how could that be?) but came to watch to improve performance in competition. I will say however, that this actor is a breath of fresh air! The part about experience and bravery is spot on. I train and show horses and you can have a tremendous amount of experience but can never know, when dealing with 1200# animals with their own mind and personality, what will happen. That’s when bravery kicks in. That’s one of the reasons I love it because no matter the preparation, anything can happen. Experience and bravery= Confidence! Great interview!!! Thank you! After watching this, Outlander is definitely on my list for watching during holiday down time!

Excellent interview. Many tough questions whereas other interviews focus on flattery and Sam Heughan’s physical attributes rather than his acting skills. I was surprised at the candidness on both sides I’m new to this podcast but plan to be a regular

My first time watching this podcast and you asked Sam all of the questions and many more that I wanted to know the answers to! Much as he is lovely to look at, I really wanted to know more about his process, how he prepares for roles and is able to do what he does, especially as by his own admission he didn't just land in it at some very early age, like being part of the Mickey Mouse Club etc., and took a while to get to his current professional level. Good job all round!

He is definitely the next Bond! If they don’t cast him, they are “crazy”!

I totally agree with you! I think that I've learned more about Sam and I appreciate him more and more as I get to know him better. I loved the questions!! Great interview … it was amazing to hear the real person speaking about his life experience, the wonderful actor Sam Heughan, and also to hear the person and not the actor as well. Fantastic. This conversation left me with a palpable sense of who Sam is … at least some of who he is in real life. Congratulations.

I am constantly blown away by how convincing he is as James Fraser. Especially when you see him in interviews with not a shred of Jamie to be found.

I thoroughly enjoyed this interview with Sam! It was so nice to feel like I actually got to know the real Sam, which is all I ever want when talking with anyone. I’ll admit, I’m a bit jaded when it comes to “celebrities”, having interviewed many from all walks of life during my broadcasting days. So often I would be disappointed to learn that this person whom I’d admired for whatever reason was actually a self absorbed phony. Sam did not disappoint. He is a well grounded, interesting person and knowing this makes me appreciate his talent as an actor all the more. This interview made me feel like I was sitting in my living room having a heart-to-heart chat with the man. Well done to the hosts and to Sam.

I cannot imagine anyone bullying Sam. He is such an earthy, sweet, kind man with enormous talent. I just appreciate him and thank him for the years of great acting and charity and entrepreneurship. Anyone that has anything bad to say about Sam is just jealous. I am a loner, too. We would make good friends. I relate to him in a lot of ways. Of course, I could be his mother. ❤❤

A very interesting interview with Sam Heughan. I felt the sincerity in him and I admire him even more. Thank you, guys.

Just to let you know, Sam came to Miami on Dec 4 and I went to see him and his Sassenach Whisky!

As a big admirer of Sam, I appreciate it very much that he is very protective of his private life. Sharing about his private life would bring him probably more fame and more money but also a lot more trouble. Choosing to stay very private is the only way to keep a healthy mental life as a famous person. At the end of the day, Sam will be able to look in the mirror and know that he stayed true to himself.

Everything I've been successful in I have taken the attuite Sam did. I think of it as " if I make it great if I don't oh well time to move on but it was a good experience" ....that cuts way back on stress

What a great interview! I had the great pleasure of meeting Sam myself just 2 weeks ago in Melbourne at Hublander, including having drinks after the event with him. We had a quick chat about Everest which was great- I've lived in China and visited Mt Everest myself so wished him the best with it (hopefully in the next year)! This guy is seriously the real deal- really insightful interview!
