Oh...what a beautiful walk in (and a beautiful day:)! It kind of made my heart lurch around a bit and pulled me back in time when it gets to the church.....it was a wonderful scene! Really enjoyed seeing "the look" from Jamie here...I wonder if Claire noticed?!:) Great history information and nice sweep around the ruins...nicely done:) My Gr. grandmother was a Kirkpatrick so I enjoy that word, "Kirk":):) Much appreciated!!:)

This church ruin is amazing, thanks for the tour 😊 I bet it was pretty tricky for the film crew not to trample and disturb the graves.

Thank you for this beautiful video. It is a shame that the grave stones aren’t cared for by some historical organization or volunteers.

Thanks for watching! Yes, the cemetery is a bit ruinous, but the graves have been there for centuries. In Scotland, it is the responsibility of the families to tend the grave stones, but sadly many of the relatives of the people that are buried here are themselves long gone. The grass is cut and maintained by the local council though. :)

The Kirk or Church site should not have been desecrated by filming.

  • @barbarac8422

How was it desecrated by filming? No damage was inflicted by it. If any of the area was "desecrated", it would have been by the installation of all those power lines amongst the scenery..... but, these are modern times and the 18th century is long gone.

no, in my opinion hardly a desecration, depending on how you define "desecration". The filming has shown the world a piece of Scottish history. Something I would never have been aware of here in Australia. Just as long as long as the graves were respected.
